Rounds Two & Three Comments

Recommended Posts

I know I didn't follow the consensus with Taylor/Lewis but I believe in following my own thinking. I think Ogden and Co. get him in the endzone more often and I have the best chances here. Risky start, but with the risk is potential. I also have receivers that I think are breaking out, but I didn't think a break out RB was coming back around. Pressure picks to say the least.

And there go the receivers.

GOOD! Now I don't have to make that choice....now if someone would only take Randy Moss before my next pick...
HAH i was hoping for the same

Actually, I'm hoping to get him at 3.12.

Don't ya worry...Moss is mine...and great reference to Freddy Barnett...good one Zap

In his one really strong year, I drafted Barnett in the 12th round and walked away with a league title. After that I always drafted him too early until he retired.

In reagards to the Truth Seekers, by my projections you are kicking rear in here. Mr. Mock Drafter, Clash of Titans, can affirm that I too have Faulk #1, and I don't buy into the BIG 3 receiver theory in my projections either. I projected this season to produce at wr something akin to most people's projections at RB, a Big 8. Atop my list of 8 stud receivers is Moss this year. I love that he abandoned (for the most part) just showing off his mad game at Carter's camp, and devoted himself to weight training. A stronger and more disciplined Moss is better than Harrison or Owens. If I'm right, you're smokin' in this draft. I deliberated on Moss at 2.1, not Harrison or Owens. It's my Big 8 receivers that pursuaded me to take the back to back backs. I just didn't see value at RB coming around, and I am praying for my wrs now. Nice work. Now start thinking about a kicker for your next pick, please. B)

thanks for the vote..although I like it when guys think i have a $*%^ team...I usually win then.....I am aproaching this draft a bit differently then other leagues...no set plan...just taking best available player...something I never do....we will see...now if only vick will be available for me next

I was praying that green made it to me at the end of the round, oh well. Maybe now  I will grab two great D players, lol.

I picked Garner from Crank's list. He too wanted Green first here, but Garner was next in line.

I tell ya from my pick of Lewis through this next tier at back, I have no clue what's the best choice. After convincing myself to avoid a receiver, I considered Barber, Green, Garner, Dillon, Lewis... there may be one more... sigh. I'm not feeling like I got value.

Can we do a do over???   eek!

B)

This is so much fun!

As much as i would like to comment on some things, i cant. It might come back and bite me in the ass later on in the draft. Ill save my comments for later

I really had to take a moment before taking barber. I was considering trying to grab Moss, but am stil a bit apprehensive about the punk.

I felt that RB value would take a huge dip before my next pick, and wanted to really secure the position. i am willing to go with what remains at WR as I feel the position is very deep, and I can still find decent quality much later....

I really tried to move up to get Moss. That would have been good.

Now Harrison and CuMar does not look stellar I agree, but let's see where it wll shape up by the end of 3rd round.

Steppin' out on my own general rule of avoiding qb's early. Just too tempting when I see what's left at rb. I'll gladly go into rd 3 with who I have projected as #1 in both rb & qb. Could be a deadly duo, either way.

Diesel, commenting on what's already transpired is pretty harmless and always interesting. It's not like we got big bucks on the line here. If the comments you're withholding show to much of your hand than I understand, but it's intriguing to me to know what others think at this point of the season.

RLLD-- Well said and my feelings exactly. In another draft I ended up with Barber right where you got him, and I was happy about it.

friar-- Your next two picks are pressure packed, and we won't know how that trade comes out for several weeks. It's not too sexy right now.

Shockey followed Garner on PIK's list. Robinson is higher here than most would project, but I like it when someone has the courage to stand by these type of decisions.

William Green one pick before me! Argh! That's cool, Garner should be a fine compliment to Portis in my backfield. Seriously debated throwing Moss into my list I sent to Zap, but the drop-off at RB after Eddie George is just too much, and I was pretty sure that the list of backs I had for 2.9 (Barber, Dillon, Green, Garner, Cumar, George) would all be gone by 3.4. They are.

Another factor was that there are still quality WR's after the big three. I still consider them the true tier one recievers, but tmy tier two recievers aren't much of a drop from Harrison, Owens and Moss.

With Mcnabb now gone, i can post what i wanted to say earlier. The reason i withheld from commenting was b/c i did not want to influence anyones decision on taking a Mcnabb. I had to go with Culpepper b/c mobile QB's are slim with vick out now. With 1 pt for 20 yards rushing, it's like i got a 2nd rb in one sense.

You are right, I am not very thrilled at this second right now. It will come down to this: Will you trade Marvin Harrison and whoever it is at pick 3.10 for Ricky? 2.10 & 3.03 were my original picks anyways...

friar-- The "would you trade" Marvin and your next pick for Ricky puts even more pressure on this pick. Can't question a duo of Harrison/Moulds-- that's sexy!

AWWWWWWWWWWW Sh*T!!!

Was SUPREMELY tempted to take one of the tier 2 recievers here, but I'm going BAP, and that's Urlacher IMHO. Top 2 were gone at QB (with Vick sidelined), Top 4 at WR (may have had to gone with Moulds, if he was there)...so I'm grabbin' one of the top 2 linebackers.

This is exactly how I viewed the trade: Would I trade a guy of Marvin's value and a late third rounder for Ricky? Oh yeah. Granted, I wasn't sure Ricky would be there (until I noticed who had the 1.02 pick!), and Marvin is actually better than who I thought would be there at 2.03, but still I felt that depth could be made up but the stud role on the team usually cannot.

Explanation...sorry for the mix up guys. I am at work and only had a quick second tollok at who was picked...thought Driver was already taken, so I chose Holt. I switched it immediately after seeing my mistake. As you can see the posts were 3 minutes apart as I am a slow typer. i hope that this is not a problem...if someone feels that this is unfair to them in anyway, although I don't see how, then i will take Holt. I will pay more attention in the future..I was just trrying to rush. Thanks

Seeker of Truth :D

You need to get in there and delete the Holt pick. Too confusing and you've cleared it up well here. I don't see a problem with the switch, but I'm just one vote.
