He joined the Eagles midway through 2005 and caught five passes. For now, he's fourth or fifth on the depth chart.

Now hes backpedaling on that statement (because he's an obnoxious blowhard) and making all the fans feel like no one knows anything about football except Reid and the Eagles org...

 

Im still waiting for something that knocks my socks off...Howards 3 and a half sacks last year is not wowing me and the Minor Deals for Barber, Schobel, and Garcia (because you can never have enough Qb's who hate TO) dont impress me....

 

Those deals would have been okay if they were supporting deals and not what this team is going to hang its hat on.

hey, i NEVER said i liked the guy. personally some days i can listen to him, others he's just pure aggravating. I'd rather listen to the early afternoon show cause at least they are entertaining and willing to accept someone else's point of view... The ONLY two good parts of Eskin's shows are when he actually has some useful insight as to what may happen and when he has Sir Charles on ranting about something...

 

i could definitely see the Chambers thing having a possibility though, i can't see MIA hanging onto him if they really want TO, and he's not coming off of a knee injury like Walker. I think he would be a nice pickup for them.

A radio host on the least credible of the sports stations in town. He may as well be on the Eagle's payroll, as he is basically an apologist for the team. He has no credibility in his opinions, but he will dutifully repeat anything the team tells him to say. Basically, he is a tool. But most people in Philadelphia know this already.

actually if i remember correctly, i think it was a caller who first mentioned it on the show, and Eskin more or less validated it... but it could have been mentioned earlier in the show.

Why would they do this? Chambers has much more Team value than TO. There is no way I would give him up for a 2nd rounder.

But even though Chambers is good, TO is great. They just brought in CPep, and want to put some more weapons around him, and who is the biggest weapon on the FA market??

 

From a 'team' standpoint, Chambers is the clear cut better option. But on the field, TO is a difference maker.

 

I think a 2nd rounder is the best they could possibly get for him, and considering they just gave one up for CPep (and two years ago gave one up for AJ Feeley), getting one for Chambers isn't all that ludicrous. Plus there probably isn't enough cap room to keep him if they really want to make a push at TO, but i have no idea of what the figures are for that.

Dawkins is a free agent at the end of the year...check the teams website...Believe it or not that extension we gave him was already three seasons ago. I think it was before the 2003 season started

I'm an Eagles season ticket holder and I'm starting to get really pissed about the Eagles lack of effort/spending this off season! For a team that needs help on the OL, at WR, LB, and RB they sure seem to be taking their time during the free agency period. I am really hoping that they have a "plan" perhaps a pre draft or darft day trade but right now I can't see this current team winning more them 8 games unless MAJOR upgrades are done ASAP!

 

As for Coward Asskin, he is the biggest tool in Philly! He is nothing more then a shill for the Eagles and is used to put out more misinformation that actual facts Here is a sample of some of his great calls:

It's just to nicey nicey for me with everyone agreeing with everyone else and a good buddy buddy feelling. It's to sweet actually, especially for a "tough" sports town like Philly. I think Eskin goes a little far with the name calling, but for the most part it is well deserved. The people are dopes, and he calls them on it.

Whoa whoa. You're mixing two different issues here. The bashing of Eskin and what the Eagles did about FA. My post was only about Eskin, and not what the Eagles have or haven't done, and I'm certainly not being an apologist for the Eagles.

Then you have my apology...I personally think that Howard is a jerk and dont think that he adds much anymore to the sports scene and is living off his schtick....Overall I dont really come here to talk about Eskin (Let that SteveJohnson guy do that) but the Eagles themselves have done a poor job overall this offseason and seem resigned to have guys come back from injuries, the Owens presence gone, and plug these dink Free Agents into the fold that really are guys who shouldnt be major contributors anyway. I think that if they have the money at this point (which they do) and the guys that they wanted are gone that it is imperative that they go out and spend it in other places (like Linebacker) ...this is where we come to Eskin (I assume) becuase this guy thinks that the Eagles dont need WR or LB to become a championship squad...and they dont have any players that are going to eat up more space with extensions they should be out improving this team....

 

My personal feeling is that they need to get this defense back to domination because its apparent that this offense is going to be piecemeal.

 

Ive liked you opinions in the past so Im sorry if I came off strong previously but I dont care about Eskin and Im pretty discouraged about this offseason and the way things appear to be playing out.

No need to apologize, you didn't get on my bad side or anything. I just wanted to clear up who and what I was talking about. But thanks anyway, that was a stand up move (rare around these parts sometimes).

 

As for being discouraged that seems to be the majority of the fans views. I too expected them to be a little more 'active' in FA, but I'm witholding judgement until later. They make make some moves during the draft that'll fill these spots. We'll see.
