jdswan922 0 Posted March 24, 2006 I am curious because he had some pretty crazy talent. I was curious if anyone knew what New Orleans' opinion of him is/was. I was hoping that maybe they would give him a shot, but that does not look likely now that Brees is in town. Is there a chance he could be traded? Anyone know of any interest? shovelheadt 71 Posted March 24, 2006 I would have liked to see him get a chance, but it won't happen in NO now. I remember reading about his performance in Arena League (I think) and at the combine.
fightklub 0 Posted March 24, 2006 He won't get a chance with the Saints.... But he is young so he may get a shot somewhere else.
DaveJ 0 Posted March 24, 2006 Until Bree's shoulder question is set to rest, he may end up having some future in NO. His best chance though is he gets traded.
t.j 35 Posted March 24, 2006 I was hoping that maybe they would give him a shot, but that does not look likely now that Brees is in town. I think he's still got potential. I would have been shocked though if they just gave him the job, it made more sense to switch out Brooks for Brees and keep McPherson as a backup than keep a starter that they don't like (Brooks) around or bank on an unproven guy (McPherson). Overall the move could help his future, though, Brooks has been a very durable player and Brees is hurt right now, if he gets hurt again that could open the door for Adrian. He's got way more physical talent than Brees so if he steps in due to injury for an extended period of time and looks really good, he could keep the job. Brees' contract may well be a stopgap 1 year deal that looks bigger on paper. If he's hurt to start the year, remember he failed Miami's physical whereas Cullpepper by my faulty logic passed it- they'll need somebody to back up Brees and start if he's not ready to go. A bigger picture thing may be the 2nd overall pick. It's widely speculated that NO takes a QB, in which case McPherson is SOL. He'd never pass a QB selected 2nd overall on the depth chart unless it's Ryan Leaf's 3rd year. (Or Joey Harrington's fifth ) Thanks for the heads up btw. I'll be sure to keep my eye on the kid due to your recommendation.
