Strike 6,032 Posted April 30, 2006 Double OT anyone? Tim Thomas is just a horrible, horrible player. Dunno. His career hasn't been great but I do know one thing - without him Phoenix wouldn't even be in this series.
CurlyNight 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Wasn't JK saying not long ago that the first round would be an easy one for the Suns?
phillybear 366 Posted April 30, 2006 How does Raja Bell brick a layup like that with the game on the line. Horrible. Interesting seesaw battle going on.

Strike 6,032 Posted April 30, 2006 The Clippers unlike the Suns actually have players that can play the 4 and 5 positions. Which explains why the Lakers split with the Clips this year, despite playing much poorer than they're playing now. We'll see.... FOCK!!! How the fock do the focking refs not call an obvious intentional hack by Walton? That was just pathetic. Come on man. Don't resort to blaming the refs. jerryskids 7,192 Posted April 30, 2006 Come on man. Don't resort to blaming the refs. Robert Sarver, the owner of the Suns, is saying a lot worse than I did as I type on a local TV station interview.
CurlyNight 0 Posted April 30, 2006 FOCK!!! How the fock do the focking refs not call an obvious intentional hack by Walton? That was just pathetic. Shaq got 2 calls that weren't fouls at all. Hey it happens, but in this case if it did............. Not a surprise that an owner would do that.
Strike 6,032 Posted April 30, 2006 Robert Sarver, the owner of the Suns, is saying a lot worse than I did as I type on a local TV station interview. If I were him I'd be bitching about the fact that Marion had no clue about how many fouls he had when he fouled out instead of complaining about the refs. Strike 6,032 Posted April 30, 2006 Good point. So are you saying Nash wasn't hacked? I don't even remember the play. What I do know is that complaining about one play is stupid. It evens out and if anyone gets hacked a lot without getting the call it's Kobe, but you'll never hear me complain about it. Because as I said, it evens out. Play basketball and win the game - don't complain about the calls or non calls.

nobody 2,926 Posted April 30, 2006 Points of fact Boris Diaw couldn't get any playing time with the god damn Hawks. Because he's a weakass ###### near the basket. Now he's starting for the Suns. Consequence is Kwame BRown looks like a decent NBA player. Shawn Marion is playing out of position due to injuries. He is terribly, terribly, terribly mismatched with Lamar Odom. Tim Thomas can't even score on Smush Parker in the post, and his best offensive move is standing at the three point line waiting for a pass. Phoenix Macthups Boris Diaw vs anybody advantage Lakers Marion vs Odom advantage Lakers James Jones/Tim Thomas vs Luke Walton wash Raja Bell vs Kobe advantage Lakers Nash vs Smush advantage Suns Clipper Matchups Kaman vs Kwame advantage Clippers Brand vs Lamar Odom advantage Clippers Quentin Ross/Corey Magette vs Walton advantage Clippers Cutino Mobley vs Kobe advantage Lakers Cassell/Livingston vs smush advantage Clippers

Play basketball and win the game - don't complain about the calls or non calls. I basically agree. In fact I usually say that if you don't want the refs to impact the outcome, get a bigger lead. Just very frustrating to see such an obvious hack when Walton is intentionally doing so to put Nash on the line. Anyway, I'm sorry I couldn't be here more during the game, would have been fun. General observations: - I generally thought the Suns played better, more their style, just weren't hitting open shots, which of course is a risk of that style. - Many of the Suns seem scared to take the shot. There was an excellent article in the paper here about how the style requires you to NOT do that. Remember Nash's 3 ptr in game 1 to seal it? Went against all conventional wisdom, but is required with the style. - Odom initiates virtually all of the contact and lowers his shoulder on most drives, I'm surprised the Suns don't complain much about it. In the end I blame phillybear.
phillybear 366 Posted April 30, 2006 Sounds like Seahawk whiners again!! The Seahawks got raped, fisted, and teabagged by the refs in the Super Bowl.

Byars41 0 Posted April 30, 2006 none of this would matter if Tim "Money When Left Wide Open But Soft In The Post" Thomas could score over Smush Parker. Thomas drains 3 after 3 but then when they needed him on the mismatch he couldn't score on Parker. Weak. Diaw abused him but Thomas is putting up fade away jumpers on him
