Yanks are just as up and down as the Sox, but they were what--6 games back last year after the first 30?

The fact that the Yankees will open May in first is a bad sign for Boston. A notoriously fading team like that needs to be running on adrenaline 4, 5 games up in June.

Yanks rotation is Johnson half the time, Mussina in so far a tremendous year, Chacon making his way through...and then junque all the way to Rivera it seems.

apparently with 10 passed balls (Bard) they went out and traded for Mirabelli today and he'll catch Wakefield tonight.

Yankees even tried to aquire Doug to c0ckbl0ck the Sox.

Classless orginization.

Smart organization. And to be fair, Mirabelli's a really good defensive C, the one the Yanks have now stinks, and they're looking for someone who has a better groove with Randy Johnson than Posada. They had more on their minds than focking the Sox, I imagine.

No, I think they were concentrating more of focking the Sox. It wouldn't have been a dumb move.

I also forgot to mention that Posada got hurt a little this week. I don't doubt they had focking designs, but they had ample reason to justify trying it beyond that. Sometimes they'll do it and worry about what to do with the player if they get him, later. They could have used Mirabelli.

Can anyone explain why people think that Posada is not a good defensive catcher? If you look at what pitchers do when they come to NY, it is an improvement (Small, Chacon, even Leiter). He is a very good hitting catcher, but I think that there is an overemphasis on throwing out runners rather than what the pitching staff does with him behind the plate. Varitek had some of the same knocks on him.

Handle the pitchers, keep them calm, make them throw strikes, and help knock in runs is the formula.

Or you could say Jaret Wright, Carl Pavano and Randy Johnson...they all declined with NY.

Posada is actually a poor reciever. moreso than a poor thrower. He stabs at the ball, frames poorly and doesn't have the softest hands

Randy Johnson biotches. Pavano and Wright have not been healthy enough to complain about anything (including the food). I was implying that Posada gets blamed for pitchers that do not live up to paychecks, when it appears to me (as an outsider) that there are other factors.

As a Sox fan, I have heard what you are saying. After seeing many games, I am changing my thinking.

P.S. He still sucks because he is a Yankee.

P.S.S.

We have Big Papi
