Giants Fan 85 Posted May 9, 2006 Lyrics: I was in a car crash, Or was it the war? Well I've never been quite the same Little white lies like, "I was there." -------- Down in the park, Where the chant is death, death, death Until the Sun cries morning, Down in the park with friends of mine. Although since 9/11 .. if you really want to know the song that I find most prophetic ... well it starts with the voice of a child and he say's, "Look Mommy ... there's an airplane up in the sky." and it's on an album, which was also a movie ... called The Wall, by a band called Pink Floyd. I'm a big fan.

Giants Fan 85 Posted May 9, 2006 Da ... Da ... Did you see the frightened ones? Da ... Da ... Did you hear the falling bombs? Da ... Da ... Did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter, while the promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue sky? Ooooohhhh, ooooooohh, oooh-oooohhh Da ... Da ... Did you see the frightened ones? Da ... Da ... Did you hear the falling bombs? The flames are all long gone, but the pain lingers on. Goodbye, blue sky ... Goodbye blue sky ... Goodbye. Giants Fan 85 Posted May 9, 2006 Numan was one of the forefathers of new wave. Yes. But he was one of many. I believe a guy went solo from the band Genesis about the same time as Numan was getting radio play. The album had one song that barely got played, called "Games Without Frontiers" and people knew it as the record cover ..." ... with the guy with the melting face." I had that album once. It was actually called "Peter Gabriel" and about 15 years later, "Biko", from that album got used for a movie called "Cry Freedom" ... and since then .... well and "Say Anything" of course ... Peter Gabriel has been exposed as the real talent from Genesis, ever since. That bald dude could play drums ... he wrote "Pseudio" though. I can feel him, feeling up my leg at camp. Oh Jesus. Something like that? Old Genesis is good though. Hard to tell who is singing. I've also liked DEVO since ... forever, if you wanna talk about original New Wave. I'm a big fan. That was about the bombings in London during WWII, not about anything else. Not every song written is about America. Must not be that big of a fan if you don't know that. Um no ... in fact you'll find, if you even pretend to understand military history ... it was not about WW2, but WW1 ... at any rate ... it reminds me of 9/11 ... and I'm allowed to decide that. Right?

Right? Yeah, because there were so many bombings of cities during WWI. There were no planes that could even attempt to fly from a German airfield to an English city. You are a complete tool, and you are 3/4 retarded.
Voltaire 5,363 Posted May 9, 2006 I don't remember him from back in the day. I must have though. I just know his song was on one of my favorite radio stations when I played Grand Theft Auto- Vice City. Each radio station has only about 8 songs, so I heard "Here in My Car" often. (too often)
GobbleDog 1,001 Posted May 9, 2006 Yeah, because there were so many bombings of cities during WWI. There were no planes that could even attempt to fly from a German airfield to an English city. I never really thought about which war had the "bombs" that Pink Floyd was refering to. Let's see, in the movie the father died in WWI and they kept reliving the trench warfare stuff. But then they had all the Nazi type stuff with the speeches and facism... so, I guess in that song they were referring to Germany's bombing of England in WWII. Roger Water's own father died in WW2, and I think that Pink kinda represents his father in the movie. I'm not sure where they got the trench warfare stuff at. Giants Fan 85 Posted May 9, 2006 The evidence before the court is incontravertable, there's no need for the jury to retire! In all my years of judging, I have never seen before, someone more deserving the full penalty of law ..." god bless you and the rest of the 9/11 heroes like you that saved the innocent that day...did you get your invitation to the permanent memorial opening yet? Did I say that? Did I ever focking say that? No. I'll tell you right now ... if you said that to my face though ... you'd prolly get your azz kicked. Nobody here ... as much shiat as they talk online, would ever say something like that to my face, or anybody else who lost friends or family on 9/11. Nobody. Because I would beat them to a pulp and feed them thier own azz. So be a real man, and realize there were some of us who saw it all hapen in real life, not on the morning News. And as pissed of and confused as we are ... you gotta focking cater to that. This was our generatons Pearl Harbor ... and I was there. I survived. Someday I'll get my fancy license plate ... but until then ... don't piss me off about it. Particularly, face to face, because I might just hafta, out of pure patriotism of course ... turn your face inside out. It could happen. You've been warned. Please .... STFU. Mkay? Giants Fan 85 Posted May 9, 2006 Real big man ... say that to my face. Tell me that Jeff and Andy died for nothing, tell me that, TO MY FOCKING FACE! I DARE YOU! PastorOfMuppets 0 Posted May 9, 2006 Maybe .... World War One? Not a huge fan of Floyd ... but, one song of theirs stands the hair up on me neck, and produces golf ball sized goosebumps ... it also confirms that this was all based on WWII... "It was jut before dawn, one miserable morning, in black '44 When the forward commander was told to sit tight When he asked for his men to be withdrawn And the Generals gave thanks As the other ranks Held back the enemy tanks For awhile And the Anzio beachhead was held for the price Of a few hundred ordinary lives... And kind old King George sent mother a note When he heard that father was gone ... It was, I recall, in the form of a scroll With gold-leaf and all And I found it one day In a drawer of old photographss, hidden away And my eyes still grow damp To remember His Majesty signed with his own rubber stamp ... It was dark all around There was frost on the ground When the Tigers broke free And no one survived From the Royal Fuselliers Company C They were all left behind Most of them dead The rest of them dying... And that's how the high command took my Daddy ... from me" "When The Tigers Broke Free" , from THE WALL.

The Total Package 0 Posted May 9, 2006 "When The Tigers Broke Free" , from THE WALL. This song isn't on The Wall. It may have been written at the same time, but it was released as a non-album single a few years later.
