Zap 0 Posted June 14, 2004 Nah, I'll stick with t.j for this bored. How else am I going to get him to 10,000 posts? vlade has over 5000 posts? No wonder you think bulletin boards are for suckers... sucker!! D07-- I'm not really :"angry":, I just thought that was the appropriate scowl for my response. Seriously though, divisions "can cause" an "unfair" playoff situation, I'd rather avoid. Since you suggested it, what do you see as an advantage? I don't want to seem close minded. vlade21 0 Posted June 14, 2004 most of vlade's posts are from a program i wrote to post automatically without me doing it... i had one thread with over 2000 posts

Diesel07 0 Posted June 14, 2004 Zap, i just saw some leagues use division (don't know why), but i thought maybe it would be interesting. I wasn't aware of the disadvantages.
teddyt 0 Posted June 17, 2004 Hey guys...it's been awhile since I checked in, but I guess it's time to start thinking footballl again! Hopefully I still have a spot in here!?!?!?! Anyways, if so, I'm ok with any of the draft dates discussed so far... Cheers...and it's nice to be back...baseball is already starting to bore me...

Zap 0 Posted June 18, 2004 teddyteeeeeee!! *wooot* One less recruiting issue! Nice to "see" you. Welcome back. And Cheers! to you too. Draft is going to be live after Labor Day in the evening. You gotta problem with that? Cool cool. So, awol with the calender ticking is: Ayatollah Sisters of No Mercy Friar
Diesel07 0 Posted June 18, 2004 Zap...when we get all the ppl back...when are we going to do the lottery (pick positions)? Just curious, because im going out of town soon.
Zap 0 Posted June 18, 2004 I'm going to use the same random generator I used last year, so there's no reason for you to be around. I'll do it between July 2nd and 5th, and then there will be nothing for you to hassle me about for weeks! Man, I'm getting knocked around a little in that mock, but like last year, my cheatsheets are very "original." thus my picks get picked on. IF it was a real league, I'd take those guys!
Diesel07 0 Posted June 18, 2004 OK, i was just wondering when you were going to tell us what picks we had. About the mock: no comment

I'll do it between July 2nd and 5th, and then there will be nothing for you to hassle me about for weeks! Try not to give me the 11th pick this time around. TIA! Also, I'm a little confused as to why we're not doing it in reverse order from last season. Although you could argue in a redraft league there's no real good reason to do so, even though it's standard.

Although you could argue in a redraft league there's no real good reason to do so, even though it's standard. Reverse order from last year's draft? I go first!? Hell no!! Reverse order from last year's finish? I go first? Hell no!! Besides we have new people joining this league. Why anyone would want one of the first five or six picks is a mystery to me. You go first and grab Holmes, wait forever to back him up. He stubs his toe. Too much risk. Give me 1.09 or higher thanks. I've contacted Sonm, and haven't received a reply, but I think he's still around.
t.j 35 Posted June 20, 2004 Um, maybe I don't know what the word "reverse" means. What I meant was, whoever finished last last season, gets first choice of what pick they want. And so on. So I meant reverse in the sense that the worse you finished the better choice you get. Seems like a common way to do things. EDIT: Nice try but you aren't going to convince anyone that they should let the early picks slip to you.
Diesel07 0 Posted June 20, 2004 well i finished 3 last year, so id get the 10th pick

Zap 0 Posted June 20, 2004 EDIT: Nice try but you aren't going to convince anyone that they should let the early picks slip to you. Oh yeah? Here's a standing offer. If I get slot 1-4, I will trade it straight up for any slot 9-12. All offers oac, some restrictions may apply.

Zap 0 Posted June 22, 2004 Hey Zap, i know everyones not around, but i suggest picking the draft order ASAP, so we can get an idea of where were drafting and what to aim for. Since we're staying with the Yahoo freebie and going live, I cannot be certain I can submit a draft order until Yahoo starts opening leagues. It may be you/we won't know our draft position until an hour before the draft! It may be the commish tools allow me to submit a draft order. If so, I'll have it done as soon as I have a league site for the year. Patience is a virtue. I think we should just go with the surprise method and find out an hour "early."
Diesel07 0 Posted June 22, 2004 why don't you just ask someone on the main board if yahoo allows that? If not, o well. I just thought it would be beneficial to everyone knowing where they draft. I hope this draft doesnt turn out like my fantasy basketball drafts. 4 leagues, i drafted in the 10-12 spot My comps broken, so in the meantime, im using my sisters 56krrrr. I should have a brand new mac soon (hopefully.)
RLLD 4,188 Posted June 22, 2004 Hey, what were the final standings from last year anyways?
Zap 0 Posted June 22, 2004 See, I've got this issue with MS Office Pro... and I cannot find the file, or a hundred other files, but I "know" they're still on the HD somewhere. For what it's worth: I Won You took second Diesel took third t.j fourth Sonm fifth 6-10 are kind of a haze... (lol) friar 11th TR last It seems like teddyt and 420 took 6-7, as I recall. Leaving l13r, PIK, Ayatollah rounding out the field. For those of you considering this league, who loved the bottom five booted out rule, we sort of waived it in the end. In my mind, I just kicked them out and then gave them first right of return. We weren't an amazingly active group, but we had a good time, no serious strife, everyone worked their lineups or had good excuses... so the bottom 5 losers for year 1 were invited back. That being said, I think some of the no shows so far may believe they are not allowed back, which is fine, because I too like that rule. And as long as I'm in the top 7 it will be enforced!! Diesel07 0 Posted June 22, 2004 Good question. i know Zap finished 1st, and th person he played finished 2nd. i finished 3rd, and i played T.J, so he finished 4th. Thats as much as i know about the standings.
Zap 0 Posted June 22, 2004 I may have that wrong. l13r? teddy? bluepointer? Any of you remember where you finished? As for the draft, last year Yahoo allowed via "fuhner tools" to input the fraft order. No one knows if it will be the same, so asking the mangeboard is no better than what I already know. Pssst, Yahoo promised changes and more pay options with less features for free sites. So, no one knows if that option will be deleted from "cheapskate" leagues. I would rather we just find out our draft position at the last minute. You gotta problem with that?

It may be you/we won't know our draft position until an hour before the draft! this is not a problem. i've done this for years in yahoo as commish of my other league. there is an option to simply add all the rosters in manually after you do an offline (offline to yahoo that is) draft. so we can do any draft order as far as yahoo is concerned. in fact, i could make the first 10 picks in the draft for all yahoo cares! Diesel07 0 Posted June 22, 2004 So T.J, your saying you can go in and edit the draft order?
t.j 35 Posted June 23, 2004 So T.J, your saying you can go in and edit the draft order? It's not even a draft order. You just do your own draft, go into Yahoo, and input the rosters one team at a time. But, if Yahoo is cutting out options as Zap fears, they may not allow that anymore. I'd be kind of surprised if they didn't, though, honestly.
Zap 0 Posted June 23, 2004 That's what we did last year. We drafted here on the board, I input the results a Yahoo. But, if we're going to have a live draft, I'd rather use Yahoo's (pretty decent) java draft option. Then we'll have nifty tools and whatnot as we draft. It's nice that the data gets automatically dumped into our league, but it's no big deal to input the draft results either. I like the tools. I like having a complete player rankings listed, and then the breakdowns by position. I like being able to quickly review everyone's roster during the draft. Zap 0 Posted June 24, 2004 So... Sonm, Friar, TR, and... Seeker!!! Did not qualify. Seeker is back!? I think I recall friar saying toodles and thanks for the fun. I also know Sonm was relieved we waived the boot out rule. Soooo, TR and Friar's spots are both available? Friar has a right of return based on that extended to Seeker and TR, Ayatollah is in if he shows. I'm waiting for RLLD or 420 to email me in regards to possible new entrants (it's a first come first serve thing that just needs a little clarification/advice), and those two spots will be quickly filled. I think 420's on the road. Patience ye applicants... OH, and I think Burt made an alias and applied.
