The "help me" forum isn't giving me a good answer to my trade help, and the few ones I do recieve aren't exactly from the smartest people. So....I come here (even though I'm not supposed to) because I know the people reading this know football and can give me their honest oppinion.

12 team, non keeper league.

My team consists of (parenthesis) indicate backups

QB: Trent (Culpepper) or other way around

RB: Shaun/Westbrook (C-Mart)

WR: Moss/Andre J (Givens, Moulds)

TE: McMichael (B.Troupe)

K: Elam

DST: Broncos (eagles)

Regular scoring system. (cbssportsline)

I was offered

MY: Shaun and Eric Moulds

for

His: Marvin Harrison and Edge

? SHOULD I DO THIS ?

Please assist me

because you know you're being a retard and asking on the wrong forum, and because you appropriately stroked our collective egos, and because you were polite & said please, I'll take a stab at it:

no way in hell.

You already have 2 stud WRs. Harrison, while nice, is not worth the dropoff from Alexander to Edge. Edge is going from one of the best situations in the NFL to a big question mark running behind that Cardinals excuse for an O-Line.

I think Edge will score a dozen TDs, but I fully expect his yardage to drop significantly.

No way in hell do I make that deal. Keep your team intact - it's fine as is. Alexander is a 20 TD lock, he's younger, and in a more balanced offense. I think Andre Johnson is due for a huge bounce-back season now that his high ankle sprain is healed, so you really have 2 stud WRs already. No need to downgrade your best player. Tell that owner "thanks but no thanks, SA is worth more than that."

good luck.

Well yeah.. it boils down to your faith in andre and in edge.

If you lack faith in adre and have faith in edge take it.

Otherwise stay.

3 words ......... THE MADDEN CURSE !!!!!!! :first:

An excellent reason to tank your team by turning Alexander and his +/- 27 TDs into Edge and his +/- 12 TDs, not to mention SA was a yard from being the yardage leader not long ago.

Three words: high on crack

As in, you'd be high on crack if "the Madden Curse" effected you one way or another in this decision.

I look at it this way: if Edge was so good, why would the other guy be offering it? :argue:

Stand pat. My best advice is to pencil in your roster the way it would look post-trade. Then honestly tell me if you think it looks better after than before.

At first glance, I was ready to say stand pat and keep SA and Moulds.

Now, Im not so sure.

2 of your 4 WR's have David Carr throwin to them

Get rid of Moulds and Moss (Im assuming Randy), A.J. and Marv looks pretty sweet.

Edge should have a solid year and this year,

you wont see Dominic Rhodes or James Mungro in at the goaline.

I say pull the trigger!!!

but remember this, he offered the trade to you, so he evidently wants it. See if you can get him to sweeten the pot like offering a better backup RB than C-Mart.

Regardless of who you think is number one, LT LJ or SA, they are all light years better than anyone else and near impossible to replace... certainly not for a cardinal and an old man...

just my opinion.

Not if you put a gun to my head would I do that deal...

Alexander will be Alexander and if you draft or make football decisions based on a curse from a video game then you deserve to lose....Randy Moss will be what he has been in the past and Andre Johnson will be beast this year.....running backs traditionally havent done well in Arizona (maybe its the heat or something) and Harrison naturally will be Harrison but the step up from Johnson to him is not worth the step down from Alex to Edge...

Figure out a way of getting rid of Moulds

Scooter - Ummmmm.....where? I see 1 and he is a question mark to me this year. I guess you are high on Moss this year and Andre as well -- Andre burning me last year is still engraved in my mind.

I like the trade - Edge will get goal line carries, and a lot of little dumpoffs in the red zone - Edge is a great blocker so this will help to open the passing game even more which in turn will help the running game. Harrison will be involved this year even more due to Edge being gone - 2 pretty solid starters for Shaun - it's not bad, but I think you could get just a bit more.

HELLO

I told the guy that I would consider it more seriously if he threw in Heap and I put in McMichael.

Vote and give me your opinion.

This year is the worst year to trade for a TE....its about 10-12 deep and I wouldnt give up Alexander just because you can get a better TE....

Wait and get one that someone drops....again the bump from McMichael to Heap isnt worth the drop from Alex to Edge

bitterness is not logic. You took AJ for a reason. I presume it's because you looked at his stats for the 2 years previous and the upward trend headed into his 3rd year.

I wouldn't deal a top 2 RB because I'm still bitter about AJ hving a high ankle sprain.

And while I'm not as high on Randy Moss as some, I do think he'll bounce back with a top 4 WR season. Brooks is a much more elusive QB, and that escapability is going to result in much better production out of the OAK WRs.

Collins was a sitting duck behind a worse O-Line...I think RMoss/AJohnson is a fine 1-2 at WR considering the talent at RB he already has. No way do I mess with that. Edge is a stud, but it remains to be seen how well he does behind that AZ O-Line. I hink he's going to be top 10, but I wouldn't give up Alexander to take that chance,

I still wouldn't.

Alexander is a bonnafied stud RB who can carry you to the championship.

this sounds like the classic 3 for 2 offer.

So long as you're losing Alexander and gaining Edge, I don't care what the WRs are.

So tell me...did you reject the offer and he upped the ante? Desperation is never pretty. Just say no thanks.

I upped the ante. But he didn't budge past the Shaun/moulds/mcmichal for edge/harrison/heap

so i'm making the executive decision and rejecting it. Thanks for the help guys, it's appreciated.

;)

but he also said "he's up for that trade anytime I want to offer"...so you never know....

First post your said,

"12 team, non keeper league."

Why are we even talking about this on the wrong bored? How can we talk about this trade in a non keeper league?

Unless you already drafted which is stupid as well. :pointstosky:

If you had asked the same quality of question on the Help Forum you would have gotten a better quality of answer. Don't knock the help forum if you are the one that can improve your quality of question. Some suggestions:

a. List your league scoring rules(Which you didn't do with your very brief question).

b. List your roster (which you did here, but not on the help board)

c. List your roster requirements (which you basically did here, but not on the help board)

d. Consider some of the people that answer questions on the help board actually provide quality posts on the board you're trying to elicit answers from (not including yours truly--admittedly not one of the smartest people here), you should reconsider that statement.

Just keep that in mind...

shaun should have alot of yardage and 15-20 tds.

moulds is a question mark, but you have moss and AJ and that should do fine.

or you could go with edge who is going to get around 10-12 tds most likely and decent yardage.

harrison who will have a good year IMO and im expecting 12-15tds with good yardage.

so if you go with your current situation and lets say moulds gets 6tds and so so yardage you will be looking at not even starting him and you would be with moss who could easily do just as well or very close to harrison this year and AJ who should do better than last year. plus arguably the best RB in the league. i think the 8td drop(approximately) plus lossed yardage at the RB position doesnt warrant this move.

I would have done the trade for Edge, M. Harrison, and Heap.

Edge is going to get virtually all rushing yarage and all rushing touchdowns. No more Peyton Manning throwing it into the end zone or D. Rhodes vulturing 1 - 2 yard touchdown runs.

And Marvin Harrsion is going to have a big year as will Todd Heap. These guys are the primary weapons on their teams. Trust me. I drafted Chad Johnson (round 3) and Steve Smith (round 4) and Carson Palmer (round 7) last year. I know what I'm talking about.
