Ashley Lelie

Any news on whether a trade may be in the works... I drafted him in a late round taking a chance that Philly would pick him up...

Philly or Denver homers... anything new...

Broncos WR Ashley Lelie was not seen before Denver's mandatory first meeting of training camp Thursday.

Lelie's holdout is starting. Lelie's agent is looking for a trading partner, but Denver probably wouldn't mind keeping him as a third receiver.

From Roto World

The problem is Lelie has been very vocal bout wanting to be a number one wr....and he's not #1 caliber, so I don't think any teams are biting, because they know it's just a headache waiting to happen if he don't get enough balls?!

with a name like Ashley Lelie, you should NEVER complain about not getting enough balls...

Everything I've heard about their WR situation has Watts performing very well at the #3.

I wish guys like him would know their roles and shut their mouths, next thing you know all below average WR's will start demanding trades, if he got moved to special teams he would have no room to complain.

there are some bad receiving corps out there but i can't see ashley being #1 in SFF, ATL or PHI, which are probably the worst.

i'll give you a rib and some lint for ashley.

The one I liked best was Eric Johnson of SF for Lelie. SF doesn't need Johnson with Davis around, and SF could use the help at WR.

No idea if it will happen, but it made sense to me. Denver likes to use their TE, but don't have any great pass-catchers on their roster.

The big rumor in cleveland is that the browns were sending W. Green to Denver for Lelie. The thing about this is the browns and denver have a very good relationship when is comes to trades and swaping players that have lost there role with the team and/or are no longer needed!

They should trade Green for anything they could get for him.

Link? I do not live in Cleveland, but I do live in Ohio and this is the first I have heard about this. I seriously doubt the Browns want this headache. They just signed Jurevicious and Edwards is ahead of schedule on his rehab. Add Northcutt, Jackson, and the rookie, why would they want Lelie? It absolutely makes no sense at all.

Ashley Lelie, WR DEN

News: The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the Broncos have offered Chicago WR Ashley Lelie in exchange for RB Thomas Jones. The Bears brass, namely GM Jerry Angelo and head coach Lovie Smith, wouldn't respond to the trade talk. Lelie has been rumored to be heading to a number of places, and is currenly on the reserved/did not report list for Denver, so it looks like the Broncos could move him.

Analysis: The Broncos traded for Javon Walker this offseason, pushing Lelie to a No. 3 role. The lanky speedster posts a tremendous yards-per-catch average and could be effective as a deep threat with any NFL club. If he stays in Denver, his statistics will be noticeably smaller because of a diminishing role with the team. If he goes elsewhere, though, he could be valued as high as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR. He should only be taken as a late-round flier in all drafts at this point.

It's hard to respond when you're laughing so hard the milk is shooting out your nose.

Guys...I'll be honest. I haven't seen much of Lelie. I am a Bears fan and would like to get something for T Jones, instead of just losing him.

Lelie had 1000 yards receiving and 7 TD's 2 years ago, and last year he had 700 yards receiving with 1 TD last year.

Does this guy have talent and the skills to be a good #2 WR, with the possibility of being a #1? I know he's 6'3...and I have heard that he is fast. Would a change of scenery be good for him and might he perform well for another team?

He's fast as gossip, but not a particularly good route runner. Also not a guy that's ever ging to catch anything across the middle of the field. Add to that the fact that he produced nothing last year and wants to be treated/paid like a #1 and you see the headache this kid can be.

It's my understanding that the Bears have a young WR (maybe a kid that sat last year?) that Grossman has described as 'the fastest WR he's ever thrown to'. Sorry I can't come up with the name. Read in TSN a few weeks ago how he was tearing it up in workouts. Any help from any homers?

Well...I am a Bears fan. He was either talking about Bernard Berrian or Mark Bradley. Bradley was the rookie last year that tore his ACL. He looks promising. This is Berrian's 3rd year now...he was the guy that David Carr would light it up to at Fresno State. These 2 guys are promising, but they haven't done it yet in the NFL.

Denver doesn't think so.
