FFLRedStorm 0 Posted August 3, 2006 I gave up Fast Willie for Andre Johnson and Michael Bennett. Quick background. Can only start a max of 3 RB's per week. Have L.J. Steven Jackson and Ronnie Brown. When I start 3 RB's, I will also start 3 WR's. Now, my starting 3 WR's are Fitz, Hines and Andre Johnson. So, in essence, was the deal worth improving my #3 WR from Donte Stallworth to Andre Johnson, plus getting some insurance for L.J.????????
skyyaa 0 Posted August 3, 2006 First of all, that's a ridicuously stacked line-up. That being said, I'd say the trade was OK in your circumstance because you get a starting WR for a overrated (imho) 4th RB. Bennett is gravy but he could produce if LJ goes down, 'cause I don't see Priest hitting the field this year. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=218720
mkuz 0 Posted August 3, 2006 i think it was an ok trade, only because a. johnson is hardly and upgrade over stallworth. i would be willing to bet that after about 3-4 weeks you will be benching johnson for stallworth. just my .
balla123 0 Posted August 3, 2006 It seems like every year is the year Andre Johnson will breakout but we've been saying the same thing about Stallworth as well. I like Andre much more this year because I finally think the Texans have given Andre someone to keep the double teams away. Also, the Texans have made a few upgrades to their line and should be slightly better this year. Dom Capers and his boring offense are gone and I think Kubiak will help Andre come closer to his potential.

I think you made a fine trade -- no starters lost, insurance for your stud RB, and small upgrade at WR. Nothing to be ashamed of.
JetsFan28 0 Posted August 3, 2006 I don't like it. FWP can and will produce. Andre Johnson and Michael Bennett are busts. Bad trade.
harken34 0 Posted August 3, 2006 No, the pooch is fine good trade
Texansfan 0 Posted August 3, 2006 In most cases I would say trading a starting RB for WR is a bad idea. However in your case you already have 3 STUD RBs so FWP would be on your bench. So you traded a bench player for a starter on your team which is an upgrade. Adding Bennett to insure LJ was a nice bonus. And not just b/c I'm a Texans fan, but I think Andre is in for a HUGE breakout year. Every day on the radio I hear how he's just lighting up camp, and now having Eric Moulds on the other side will open him up more this year! Thanks for looking at mine! TimmySmith 2,782 Posted August 3, 2006 My opinion is, if you are particularly strong at a position, wait til after the season starts to make trades. Injuries and realizations can create greater value for players. You basically traded Parker for Johnson. While you got LJ's handcuff, Parker would be a better start. BTW are you in an 8 team league. You have 7, first or second rounders.
