Hasselbeck for a Receiver?

Recommended Posts

I have a plethora (yes, I said it) of receivers right now but am a bit hurting a QB. Another team in my league has Hasselbeck (as a backup, starts Vick every week) and needs a WR. Should I trade away my depth and take a flyer on Hasselbeck? If so, for who?

Hasselbeck for 1 of the following (I start 3):

T. Holt

A. Boldin

D. Driver

M. Colston

L. Coles

Leave me a link to yours.

***UPDATE***

Basically the guy I am trading with has said he will accept ANY of the receivers on my squad. Not a good negotiation technique, but who am I to argue. So really, I am looking to dump the guy who has the worst prognosis for the rest of the year.

Like to keep Holt and Driver, so the choice is really between Boldin, Colston, and Coles.

Boldin has a rookie QB

Coles has nagging injuries

Colston is unproven

Keep Holt, Boldin and Colston. Driver and Coles are very expendable. Did you see last night's Packer game? Philly's secondary was depeleted and the pack still couldn't get it done. And isnt driver coming off an unjury plagued year?

Colston on the other hand. Brees uses him as an outlet a lot. He is great athlete and a great pass catcher, and best of all in some leauges he is listed as a WR/TE.

Which makes him even more valuable.

Id say there is a strong possibility Colston is this year's Antontio Gates.

He may hit the 10-12 Td plateau.

Which could be more than Driver and Coles get all year. My advice is to trade Driver and Coles. You can may get a Marc Bulger for him (tho i doubt it). Hasselback is real possibility though.

Contrary to most replies, I would give up Holt for Hass. Plummer is ok to good week to week, and Hass is good to great week to week. You have strong WR and this would give you the ability to play the 'who has the better matchup game' with Jake or Hass. Of course I would try and deal the other WR's first but if you have to make the deal work I wouldn't hesitate dealing Holt.

Just my $.02

Ack - reply didn't post, so here's the short version:

In a PPR league I'd offer Boldin and see if he bites. Your WR are strong and Hass is a big upgrade especially considering his schedule going forward. I'd consider trading even Holt for Hass, but if you can keep him and Driver then more power to you. If you're really worried about WR depth, you could try packaging Plummer or Frye for his #3/4 WR, but I'd be happy to start any of your WR every week.

Also, beware of bye weeks:

Holt/Colston 7

Boldin/Coles 9

If you give away Driver (bye = 6), you'll be in trouble both of these weeks!

I'd start out initially with the sell-high guy in Colston. If he doesn't bite, feel free to offer Boldin, and move up to Holt if necessary (and if you're willing to part with him). Don't offer Coles unless you think the guy is an easy fish.
