"Bush keeps revising war justification"

Recommended Posts

But 3 1/2 years later, with no weapons found, still no end in sight and the war a liability for nearly all Republicans on the ballot Nov. 7, the justification has become far broader and now includes the expansive "struggle between good and evil."

Bush's approval rating, reflected by AP-Ipsos polls, has slid from the mid 60s at the outset of the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003 to the high 30s now. There were light jumps upward after the December 2003 capture of Saddam, Bush's re-election in November 2004 and each of three series of aggressive speeches over the past year. Those gains tended to vanish quickly.

The Dems now represent true progressives AND conservatives...real conservatives hate the neocons...America hates Bush...pain at the pump...America thinks green now...America embraces radical environmentalism...Repubs are doomed come November.

From the President's 2003 State of the Union Adress in the runup to war :

"The dictator who is assembling the world's most dangerous weapons has already used them on whole villages, leaving thousands of his own citizens dead, blind or disfigured...

If this is not evil, then evil has no meaning."

Hardly a revision. Try again.

No, I took it from his 2003 State of the Union speech. Ever heard of it?

Let's have Rude Rick and fastfish just share one post between the two of them. They can post what they like, they can only post there, and then no one has to read either of them.

Yes. And soon the Iraqi people will have their justice on him. There are obviously plenty more like him running loose. HTH.

Saddam was a toothless tiger...he wasn't dangerous to anyone. He was secular...the insurgents aren't.

Yeah, we should have taken the Bill Clinton way out: just lob some cruise missles at the terrorists, bury your head in the sand, and hope the problem goes away.

Or the Bush way out, just send a handful of troops into Afghanistan and dupe the American people so you can get revenge on SH

This has nothing to do with Iraq. Going into Iraq was not necessary to wage a war on terrorism and has proven a distraction from that goal.

Tell that to all the women and children buried in mass graves.
