OB1 33 Posted June 28, 2004 Hopefully everything is OK with him, because he hasn't posted on the boards at all since his last pick in round 22, 5 days ago. I have sent him an e-mail, and gotten no response (obviously), I have no other means to contact him. We did not set time limits on picks, and since we are less than 20 picks from completion, and have 2 months to finish, we should wait to see what is up with ICE before we move on. I don't think it's fair to skip his picks when we never set out rules to do so in the begining. However, we should begin to figure out what our plan is should ICE pull a mookie on us. Basically, at what point do we decide he isn't coming back and start looking for a replacement owner? Now, i'm WAY ahead of myself here, as it's only been one full work day on the clock, but since he hasn't posted in 5 days, it's worth having the initial discussion about. Is the threshold a few days? a week? two weeks? a month? Lets get your thoughts on this here, so it's all in one place. Hopefully ICE just had a bad weekend and will pick today. Wilzone 0 Posted June 28, 2004 After 2 weeks, we could start looking for a new owner.
Mark Buffington 3 Posted June 28, 2004 I say we wait. On an aside, I will be out of the country for two weeks starting friday. Fricker will fraft my last pick if we don't finish up by then.

Wilzone 0 Posted June 28, 2004 Umm, this doesn't look good. Hopefully, he went on vacation or something like that.
Call me...Tim? 0 Posted June 28, 2004 I don't see a need to set a deadline now. Obviously at some point we'd find a replacement. But for now, we wait. Perhaps he had some RL crisis that req's attention. We are, as you said, 2 months away with only 20 meaningless picks to go.
OB1 33 Posted June 29, 2004 I don't see a need to set a deadline now. Obviously at some point we'd find a replacement. But for now, we wait. My basic objective here is to determine what that point is. When do we say "Shiite, ICE has abandoned us?" 2 weeks, a month?
Cornerback 0 Posted June 29, 2004 Two weeks should be adequate. If something happened to me, I would want you to carry on. Hopefully he and his loved ones are OK.
whoisjgalt 0 Posted June 29, 2004 Two weeks seems more than reasonable. Too much longer and nobody will be able to find their cheatsheet anymore. If it gets to two weeks, then we'd have to start finding an owner who wants to take over his team. So that would be perhaps almost three weeks of no frafting. JasperisOK 0 Posted June 29, 2004 I agree that with only 20 picks left to complete the fraft, it's not a real big problem to wait. I do think however, that if he had a family emergency, it would most likely take him away for the better part of a week. But we would eventually hear from him. On the other hand, if something happened to him (God forbid!), it could be a total unknown as to how long he'd be gone. Either way, I say we wait about a month and see if he turns up. If at that point he doesn't, then we actively look for a replacement owner.
whoisjgalt 0 Posted June 29, 2004 OB - His roster post is not missing his more recent picks, but is missing SEA & Schobel. Perhaps you could update it as follows: QB - Daunte Culpepper QB - Rohan Davey QB - Gus Frerotte RB - Marshall Faulk RB - Garrison Hearst RB - Justin Fargas RB - Derrick Blaylock WR - Joe Horn WR - Isaac Bruce WR - Deion Branch WR - David Givens WR - Drew Bennett WR - Jabar Gaffney WR - Curtis Conway WR - Taylor Jacobs TE - Jeremy Shockey TE - Jed Weaver TE - Matt Schobel K - Mike Vanderjagt K - Jason Elam D - Titans D - Seahawks
ICEMAN 44 Posted June 29, 2004 Gentlemen, I apologize for holding things up here. I wish that I could say that I had gone on vacation. I just closed on a house on Friday and thought that I had everything lined-up as far as an ISP goes. Unfortunately, the company that I ordered my cable ISP through (Comcast) sent some dope to install it that had no idea about computers whatsoever. His exact line was "I'm really just a phone guy." The dude dropped off the hardware and bolted (I am also getting digital phone from these morons as well). It wasn't until after he left that we discovered that he hadn't even activated the damn cable for the internet access. I would have taken a swing by work to get online and make my pick, but the house that I bought is 40 miles from work and it's kind of hard to tell the missus "Honey, I know that we are moving into our first house, but I need to bail for a few hours to make a fantasy football pick in a league that I'm in. OK?" Sorry again guys. I'll make my pick in a couple of minutes after I find out who's that backup's, backup's, backup RB in Arizona. ICEMAN

Mark Buffington 3 Posted June 29, 2004 Comcast is a good company but leave a little to be desired in the customer service department. Glad everything is okay.
ICEMAN 44 Posted June 29, 2004 It's obvious that I just wasn't slowing this draft down enough as it was. I was really just pondering whether or not to draft Rohan Davey all weekend, only to discover that I had already drafted him 6 rounds ago. It's good to be back. I was going through some pretty severe FFToday DT's all weekend.
