FBIGUY 0 Posted November 2, 2006 Ashley Lelie! I think the more important thing here is that Dre' Bly is a shut down guy and he will be on the #1. Thus the guys who have been really killing Detroit all year has been the #2 and #3 Wr's from the other team. So all that info about how bad Detroits passing D is really good news for anyone wanting to start the real sleeper this week. I say he should go for 80-100yds and 1-2 td's The only danger here is that his TD's go to Crumpler. Lets hope the Lions can stop the run also. Thank me after the game. unclemercy 53 Posted November 2, 2006 i'm bigger on crumpler for similar reasons to yours... i'd say two things, good observation and you're welcome
Busted by the Feds 9 Posted November 2, 2006 I'm thinking of using Michael Jenkins for that same reason as a bye week fill in. He'll factor in more than Lelie in the Red Zone for the scoring strikes ( aside from Crumpler, of course ).
DamageIncVacc 6 Posted November 2, 2006 Picked up Lelie myself for this week.
FBIGUY 0 Posted November 2, 2006 I'm thinking of using Michael Jenkins for that same reason as a bye week fill in. He'll factor in more than Lelie in the Red Zone for the scoring strikes ( aside from Crumpler, of course ). But he won't....Jenkins is not the play this week! Bly will shut him down. that is why you should look to Lelie. I would not start Jenkins this week.
Busted by the Feds 9 Posted November 3, 2006 But he won't....Jenkins is not the play this week! Bly will shut him down. that is why you should look to Lelie. I would not start Jenkins this week. Huh ? So, Jenkins is the # 1 WR for Atlanta ? I thought he was number 3.
DamageIncVacc 6 Posted November 3, 2006 Jenkins is the #1 and Lelie got promoted to #2 .Roddy White is the #3 reciever. (Crumpler is recieving option 1) . I was on the Falcons message board and alot of fans think Lelie is there best reciever. He is probally there best home run threat. Bly will be all over Jenkins so I think Leleie is the best bet for a big game this week.
unclemercy 53 Posted November 3, 2006 i'd also add that for passing receiving options outta this game you gotta look hard at kitna, roy, and fuzzy mike furrey.... kitna's had nine passing touchdowns in the past five games and the dirty birds are near last in the league in pass defense. i know this is a receiver thread, but kitna's a solid option this week when mora's even made big ben look good... What is the deal? 1 Posted November 3, 2006 I'm starting Lelie this week w/ Boldin/Reggie Brown on Bye...
Gepetto 1,326 Posted November 3, 2006 What if the Lions feel that Lelie is the #1 WR for Atlanta and Bly covers him all game. Couldn't that happen?
FBIGUY 0 Posted November 3, 2006 What if the Lions feel that Lelie is the #1 WR for Atlanta and Bly covers him all game. Couldn't that happen? I was thinking that myself.....but just looking at how things have went so far this season I think it will be Jenkins to draw the coverage. Hard to say. But a valid point if you are thinking of starting Lelie.
dumbassmax2001 0 Posted November 3, 2006 What if the Lions feel that Lelie is the #1 WR for Atlanta and Bly covers him all game. Couldn't that happen? Better yet, what if they consider Crumpler their #1 threat and put Bly on Crumpler. Doesn't that make Jenkins the #2. I know that Gates and in some instances Tony G are covered that way. Just a thought.
swamp dog 0 Posted November 3, 2006 i'm bigger on crumpler for similar reasons to yours... i'd say two things, good observation and you're welcome agreed. while it's a good idea to start whoever you can against the lions at this point. lelie is still horribly inconsistent--a boom-or-bust kinda of guy. i expect crumpler to have a huge day. The Riddler 0 Posted November 3, 2006 Nice call FBIGUY. I posted the following earlier this week, but it didn't get much of a response: "when playing the Lions, a team's #2 receiver has the big day. Reason being, Dre Bly shuts down the #1, but since the rest of the defense is atrocious, everything just goes to the #2. Checked the stats, and they definitely seem to back this up." I just wasn't sure if Lelie was truly the #2. And while I'm worried about Crumpler, my other option is Jerry Porter. I'm going with Lelie. Let's hope the theory holds true for this week. At this point it looking like the reason nobody wantes to take a chance on Lelie is because of Crumpler. At this time I guess if you have guys like ... Mushy Cotchery Chambers Galloway you could look to Lelie and take your chances. Could be nice, could be real bad.....you never know.
FBIGUY 0 Posted November 6, 2006 OOPS! Ashley Lelie....2 for 35yds. Not even close to what I was thinking would happen. So let me be the first to say Good Job Detroit! AND I was wrong about my sleeper....sorry to the board and anyone who listened to me.
DamageIncVacc 6 Posted November 6, 2006 Hey you just provide the info , you dont twist ayones arm. Were all big boys here. No sweat FBI Guy. I also thought he would be a good play. Its always a crapppshoot. But no WR on atlanta is worth much other than the Crump.
