IGotWorms 4,058 Posted November 5, 2006 Think we'll see Brian Griese sometime this year? Grossman can make some great throws but he's also predisposed to dumb decisions and turnovers!
Liberals are Clueless 0 Posted November 5, 2006 I've seen some dumb posts on this board today, but this one takes the cake. Congratulations!

IGotWorms 4,058 Posted November 5, 2006 Has Rex broken his own best of 6 TOs in the season yet? Cuz he's sure trying!
bjsteel 34 Posted November 5, 2006 They'd be better off with Orton behind center, at least he doesn't make stupid mistakes, which kills the D. They need someone to just manage the game and not make mistakes...time for Griese as they won't win anything with Grossman...and I have him in two leagues. swamp dog 0 Posted November 5, 2006 rex is too inconsistent to be successful come playoff time. i can't understand why bear fans touch their happy spots over this guy.

For the same reason they did with another QB... oh what's his face? You've probably seen him bagging groceries.

I mean come on, how could Lovie overlook that stellar QB rating of 59.7? Genius post.

Genius post. beats grossman's 35 rating today. and for the second time this season (underscore this season) a grossman-led offense has coughed the ball up 6 times. the bears are obviously going to win the nfcn; they are a playoff team. but grossman isn't a guy to hang your hat on if you plan on going anywhere come january. he should scare the hell out of every bear fan every time he goes back to throw. he can look all-world at times--but hey, so did josh mccown. Exactly. The way Rex can just fall apart in a game that does not bode well for the Bears come playoff time. For them to win the Superbowl he'll have to put together at least three straight mistake-free games. What are the chances of that? One in a hundred? So what would you do if you were Lovie Smith? I can't believe I am writing this but I think I would seriously go with Brian Griese. Say "Brian, its not very important that you win games for us so much as that you do not lose games for us" and stick him in there.

rcficker 0 Posted November 6, 2006 From a Bears fan here in Chicago, Grossman is the wrong guy from day 1. I'm not impressed that he torched Green Bay (worst pass D in league), I'm not impressed that he torched Detroit (very bad pass defense) and also had a few dropped INTs in this game, I'm not impressed that he torched Buffalo (not a good pass defense), I'm not impressed taht he torched Seattle (one of the worst defenses this season). At Minnesota, he looked bad (throwing a TD to the Vikings), many dropped INTs At Arizona was the worst QB performance in NFL history. I'm not impressed that he torched San Francisco (one of the worst defenses in the league), other dropped INTs vs. Miami (terrible game, could have had many more INTs). 8 starts, 25% terrible games, 16% bad games, good games vs. Detroit/Buffalo/Seattle/Green Bay/San Fran. Would not surprise me to see him struggle mightily vs. New York Giants, the Jets, New England, and see the Bears at 8-3 after that stretch with Griese at the helm. You just need a Brad Johnson/Trent Dilfer type at the QB with this defense. I know Ronnie Brown had a good game, but the Bears O turned it over 6 times, and many of those deep in their end of the field. Rex Grossman = bench forever, please!
