erosryd 0 Posted November 9, 2006 Considering what is left of the season, where would you guys rank the RBs as top and bottom level RB1s, solid RB2s and RB3s that could break into a RB2 (or RB1) role? Here are mine: RB1 Top Tier (regularly can expect lots of points from here on out) LT LJ S-Jax Tiki RB1 Lower Tier (better consistent points than any RB2 backs or lower) Portis (injury risk & backup Betts in too often) C Taylor (high involvement in running and passing game, but needs more TDs) FWP (getting decent number of carries, involved in passing, and getting some TDs) Westy (injury risk) Rudi (team offense struggling) K Jones RB2 T Jones (not many TDs, but lots of yards thru ground and air) Gore (like T Jones above) W Dunn (losing touches and TDs to Vick and Norwood) T Bell/M Bell (whichever starts for Denver) R Brown (starting to play better) A Green (solid points, but injury risk and good backup in J Jones RB3 with the greatest potential to be serviceable RB1s or RB2s): J Lewis (tons of touches now but w/ low yd/carry avg, and getting TDs – will/can he keep it up?) A-Train (replacing injured McGahee for rest of year, maybe?) Addai (close to #2 already, could be a low tier #2 as season continues) C Dillon (lots of TDs, but only half the running load for NE) Deuce (tempted to list him higher, but still alot of RBBC in NO) SA (if he can come back fully healthy, should become a high #2 or low #1 RB – but big “if”) Maroney (more yards than Dillon but fewer TDs with same # of carries per game) L Washington (getting most of the carries, some TDs – but hasn’t been starter very long) L Jordan (favorable schedule, talented – but will he ever touch the ball enough to move up?) T Henry (decent # of carries, not many TDs) Droughns (Getting the touches, but few yds and fewer TDs) Edge (featured back that cannot score behind terrible O-line) F Taylor (losing too many touches and TDs to Jones-Drew to be solid #2 at this time) D Foster (not getting many yds or TDs, and might start to lose carries to D Williams) W Lundy (starting RB who also gets receptions, but tough schedule and hasn't been scoring TDs) Jones-Drew (only getting half as many carries as F Taylor) McGahee (featured back without many yards – injured and out indefinitely) R Bush (involved in passing game, not much on the ground though and few TDs) Caddy (featured back also involved in passing game, but few yds and fewer TDs) M Morris (starter while SA is out and finally had a decent game – but SA could return any time) D Rhodes (some carries on good offense, but seems to have fallen behind Addai for good)

Maybe not really all that tough, but for a bad team like Houston is I see him struggling vs Jax and NE, and even with their poor rush D I still see Indy scoring lots of points early making the running game for Hou obsolete. Oak is terrible, but doesn't allow many rushing TDs even though they've played some of the leagues better rushing teams in SD and Den as well as decent SF and Pit. A better back on a better team might take advantage of Buf, Jets, Oak, Tn and Indy, but I don't think Lundy will (but then, I've been wrong before - like drafting L Jordan as my first pick this year!) jdizel 0 Posted November 10, 2006 Portis (injury risk & backup Betts in too often) Betts in too often???? Betts stats the last 3 games: 3 carries - 6 yds 10 carries - 52 yds (Portis went out early this game) 2 carries - negative 2 yds The injury risk is a good concern, but when he;s healthy as he is now, Betts takes away nothing. Portis gets the vast majority of carries - true and I would love to have him on my team. Betts seems to be a lot more involved in the passing game. In the last 3 games, Portis has 61 touches vs. Betts' 25 and for the season Portis has 137 vs Betts' 88, or something close to that anyways. I know Portis was out much of the early season and Week 7 with injuries - so that hurt his numbers and pumped up Betts', but also scares me as for how durable he will be down the stretch with his shoulder and ankle problems earlier this year. Still, I think that, if healthy, Portis can have some very good #s in both yardage and TDs, thus the reason I still consider him easily a top 10 back, but not an elite back. DamageIncVacc 6 Posted November 10, 2006 I love Kevin Jones production and he is one of my best players but he has the worst schedule for a running back upcoming . Especially the big week 16 against the Bears. 3 of the last 4 are top 5 rushing defenses and the pack is pretty good against the run also. Now he does get his catches. but this has to be the worst schedule for one of the top backs. Week 13- NE (#3 against the run) Week 14- Minnesota (#1 against the run) week 15- GB (giving up the almost the least rushing yards -785 in 8 games) Week 16- Chicago (Top D in football , only 1 Rush TD all year)

Perhaps what he doesn't get on the ground vs good run Ds he can get through the air - he got six receptions vs Chicago. I believe he will still put up good enough numbers to be a #1 back for your team. What do you guys think of the RBs that I listed in the RB3 section? As most of our leagues' trade deadlines approach, some of us may want to target some of these guys as our second RB down the stretch and for the playoffs. I know someone already mentioned that Lundy has an easy schedule and might be a good choice, albeit he plays for a terrible team. Maybe he can break through as a solid #2? Any other opinions on him or any the others? Does my RB2 list look good - would you move any of those up or down? Here are some recent discussions over past couple of days about some of these RBs: L Jordan http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=251932 Addai & A-train http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=251844 A-train http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=251871 http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=252059 McGahee & A-train http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=251962 R Brown, Rudi http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=252197 Caddy Williams http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=252143 A Green http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=251725 T Bell & M Bell http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=251439 L Washington http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=252088 Westbrook http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=251971 Willie Parker (FWP) http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=251757 T Henry http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=251956

waterwolves 0 Posted November 11, 2006 I started a post about Portis a while back and I explained why I love him the second half of the year. I still do and it starts this week. I think he will double his touches and have a small up tick in yards per carry. If he stays on pace with his TD's which he did against Dallas you are looking at close to 1000 yards or 115 yards a game from here on out and a TD a game. I will take that any day. Top Three when it's all said and done. I thought he had a chance to break into the top two but LT and LJ are just to TD dominant for that and S-jax looks like he is going to have something to say about that but still I feel Portis is going to be huge these last 8 games. sly poppa 0 Posted November 11, 2006 Rather than state the obvious, I'll just list some RBs that I like for the stretch run... -Ronnie Brown - on the rise. 5 of 8 at home. O-line gelling. -Frank Gore - great playoff schedule -Leon Washington - nobody has it easier than the Jets over the last 8 -Thomas Jones - i sense a return to the CHI of old. power running and hard hits -Addai - dominic who? -Kevin Jones - you could do much much worse my friend -ahman - never gets his props. 3 str8 100 yard games and no competition And now for those on the cusp, but heading the wrong direction -willie parker - steelers in freefall. tough schedule. wear and tear gonna catch up soon -foster - do you really think he's gonna suddenly be a stud? -alexander - even when he comes back he's not gonna get it done for you everyone else "is what they is"...as everyone seems to moronically say.
