Fumbleweed 555 Posted January 15, 2007 I was impressed with the Seahawks today. If they can play that well with so many injuries, the team could return to being a top two NFC team next year. Either that, or the Bears D is really losing steam. It's always hard to tell.

murf74 461 Posted January 15, 2007 These 2 guys have been sleepless for the last year, this just extends their misery. I was wondering and still haven't heard, how tiring does it become pulling for a team that never has won a championship? It's got to be a drag? And to think, it may never happen...it probably is enough to make a grown man cry....well that would explain it

Thats true and the poor guys don't even have the space needle to share They've won championships. Just not an NFL championship. Incidentally, I am a lifelong Red Sox. Fumbleweed 555 Posted January 15, 2007 Thats true and the poor guys don't even have the space needle to share True Fumble but as a fellow Steeler fan you know those championships mean very little to the fans. Depends on the fan, I guess. I enjoy every championship. I'm not greedy. When the Steelers win a division title, but then lose in the playoffs, I am initially disappointed, of course...but then I reflect on the division title and take pride in that accomplishment. You can't win NFL titles all that often.
murf74 461 Posted January 15, 2007 I didn't realize Phillybear had been an obnoxious homer......he's always seemed pretty cool to me. Did I miss something? I would say Philly is definitely more reasonable than Flahawker, but if we didn't have Flahawker making such a fool of himself around here, Phillybear would look more radical/extreme. phillybear 366 Posted January 15, 2007 Seattle played well today. Losing in OT on the road vs the #1 seed. Great game. Chicago made the plays at the end, and deserved to win. A couple of Pittsburgh fans continue to incite. Sigh. I sincerely hope the entire Steelers roster contracts AIDS.
murf74 461 Posted January 15, 2007 I do. Every championship is an accomplishment. No offense, but your attitude is what makes other people dislike certain fan bases. Steelers won so many division championships only to lose in the playoffs, I was never happy to just be there. Everyone hates Steeler's fan base unless they are a Steeler fan themselves, they did long before I visited the FFToday Forum.

Super Bowl titles are hard to come by....you've gotta learn to enjoy lesser accomplishments as well when they happen. It depends, bad teams making the playoffs (like Maddox last season) I am happy to make it. But in years when they had great teams and fell short (94, 95, 97, 2004) there was nothing to be happy with. K, how many Lombardi's does Green Bay have and What is their Superbowl record ?? 3 and 3-1 to answer your question But what does this have to do with anything? Chasers Dawg 9 Posted January 15, 2007 3 and 3-1 to answer your question But what does this have to do with anything? WRONG, They are 1 - 1 in Superbowls (both under Holmgren) and have 1 Lombardi Trophy. There are a lot of Championships other than the Superbowl on an awful lot of teams records. You do not even seem to understand what they are

Philly has been mostly on the geek board. you've been pretty decent most of the time, but as a rule bear fans here can't get into the shiat of philly and flahawker. i can spot you twice as many bear fans as these two guys who have been obnoxiou a-holes here--and much, much, much worse than these two guys. and continue to be. and quite frankly i'm surprised there are any bear fans here talking smack after that win today. i figured they'd still be shopping for new underwear after that near-death experience. Tusekan Raiders 0 Posted January 15, 2007 I was impressed with the Seahawks today. If they can play that well with so many injuries, When will the excuses stop for Seattle? The Bears were missing a Pro Bowl DT and Pro Bowl S. The Seahawks were missing their two, non-Pro Bowl, starting corners, but had their first round pick to replace one. What excuses have I made for the Bears? They don't need excuses...they won the game. I know that is a hard concept for a Lion fan, but when you actually WIN games, especially playoff games, you don't need excuses. Again, challenging for a Lion fan, but the superior game plan is often the one that WINS the game.

Chasers Dawg 9 Posted January 15, 2007 Though seeing as Lombardi was coaching at the time, I'm guessing the trophy wasn't called the "Lombardi". Most important, from the standpoint of football fans, was the immediate establishment of a championship game between the leagues. This was the AFL-NFL World Championship Game Not sure but I don't believe it was called the "Superbowl" until after the 1970 merger

The Seahawks were missing their two, non-Pro Bowl, starting corners, but had their first round pick to replace one. Who are the other missing guys that count as "so many injuries" for the Seahawks? I was making no excuses for Seattle and I never said the Bears didn't deserve to win. Nor did I say the Bears weren't injured, too. My comment was completely independent of the Bears altogether. You brought the Bears into the equation. All I was doing was complimenting the Seahawks on showing a lot more today than I thought they would. They came to play. So did the Bears. It was a solid, exciting game. My statement was that if Seattle can play this good with all the injuries they've dealt with this year, they've got a great shot at being a top NFC contender next year. Somehow, you turned that into something totally different altogether.
