Recidivist 1 Posted February 20, 2007 Frigidaire side by side with ice/water dispenser on the freezer door. I went to get a glass of ice water and the ice dispenser will only dispense crushed ice. The only person who ever uses this feature is my wife's 9 year old cousin. She was over here earlier today. This isn't a huge probelm, only mildly disconcerting. Any suggestions??? Recidivist 1 Posted February 20, 2007 If you open the freezer can't you get the cubes by hand? Yes, yes I can. But that defeats the purpose of having the dispenser how are you goingto chill your vodka ? Vodka stays in the freezer, so it's always chilled I'm done drinking for the evening. Your concern is duly noted and most appreciated

My fridge is doing the same damn thing! If you open the freezer can't you get the cubes by hand? And this is my problem solver until it plays nice and dispenses cubes again
Big_Pete 0 Posted February 20, 2007 you gotta make by any way you can... crushed ice isn't ideal, but hey, gotta do what you gotta do... it's easier to crunch on the ice if it's already crushed. plus your already chilled vodka won't melt it enough to make a difference between cubes and crushed ice. joneo 556 Posted February 20, 2007 OK, a serious answer: Remove everything from the ice making portion of the freezer. Put the parts in hot water. Then take a hair dryer and thaw out everything. This happens to me from time to time. Usually during the summer because of the humidity. Once you thaw out the ice that has formed where it wasn't supposed to form, make sure you towel dry it so the moisture doesn't freeze again. The very front of your tray where the ice comes out is probably the culprit.
phillybear 366 Posted February 20, 2007 Not only do I not have a dishwasher, but my fridge does not dispense ice or water. I am poor.

DuckStupid 40 Posted February 20, 2007 I see one of two options available to you. Purchased ice or the dreaded ice cube trays. Godspeed
