thedanzone 2 Posted April 9, 2007 I am having a problem copying a formula to multiple cells. Say I have A1-A10 with hourly rates. In B1 I put +A1*2080 and click enter. I get the right answer in B1, but when I drag the formula down to B2-B10 it gives me the value of B1. To correct it I then have to click on B2 then click in the text bar right above the column headings, hit enter and the formula then works. Then I repeat for B3 - B10. On the other hand if I put 1 in A1 and 2 in A2 and highlight both then drag down it does count correctly leaving 3 in B3 and 4 in B4 etc. Any ideas as to why my formulas are not working correctly? Electric Mayhem 35 Posted April 9, 2007 make sure there are no '$' in your formula. It should read: =A1*2080 not =$A$1*2080 the '$' lock the cell value when you copy it

Electric Mayhem 35 Posted April 9, 2007 No $ symbols are in the formula when i drag it down. look at the folmula in B1. If it reads: =B1*2080 then hit F9. You might have Excel set to manual calculation if it reads: =A1*2080 then try copying the formula using "copy" and "paste" rather than dragging down (although that should work...) Funny, I was looking under options and tried the F9 thing and that changes everything correctly. Somehow my calculations were changed from Automatic to Manual. I just changed it back, thanks EM.
