Which of SF's 4th round picks are we getting for D Jax? Anyone catch what Mortensen said?

Thanks. I guess this is the round that will make or break our draft.

Bush a raider. What a good draft their having.

At least they don't have a line.

Kopy, I know you were high on Bush, but Antonio Pittman might be a better value at RB.

Randy Moss just got dumped for a 4th so I guess I can't complain all too much about getting a 4TH for DJAX; however, I now wonder why Branch is worth a 1st?

Wasn't so much that I'm high on him. I actually think Dwayne Wright (Despite some teams wanting to convert him to fullback) is the best back left.

I'm just kind of going by my value chart. And I though for sure Bush would have been drafted at the end of 2/ top of 3.

Definitly before guys like Henry,Irons and so on.

Seattle was desperate to deal for a WR, and overpaid a bit. NE was willing to hold onto Branch if he came back.

NE and SF sat back and waited for the prices to come down from desperate to dump players.

Position of strength.

If I can nit pick. I would have at least said, pick # 104. I can't believe 20 picks would have been the deal breaker.

:D

This is what Rotoworld says:

" Darrell Jackson-WR- 49ers Apr. 29 - 11:20 am et

49ers acquired Darrell Jackson from Seattle for a fourth-round pick.

Jackson's numbers will probably take a slight hit playing in San Francisco's offense, but he will get a ton of targets as the top option of Alex Smith. Jackson is an even riskier WR2 pick now, largely because of injuries, but he's always produced. Arnaz Battle, Jason Hill, and Ashley Lelie will battle for the other starting spot.

I bet Ruskell and company are on the phone as we speak with Hackett's agent.

:dunno: I say a long term deal gets done by the end of training camp.

And Branch and Hackett are 1 and 2 for years to come.

Pittman to N.O.???????

I really like Andrae Allison, stud WR from East Carolina. This guy was their only weapon at WR, and was just dominating. Teams couldn't stop him.

Great value, if he slides down to us.

Seems like LB is the value position at this point, with a bunch of good ones left.

Buffalo stole a good kid. Dwayne Wright was my sleeper back.

They done did good :wall:

Here we go.

 Patrick or Beekman

I'm thinking Allison the WR with pick, or a value LB, Alexander, Biler, Shaw, Blades.

With the next 4th rounder, take a need area. Reach for an offensive lineman or TE.

Baraka Atkins, DE, Miami

Had him about #100 on my sheet. Not bad.

He played for the Hurricanes, so he is quick. We needed help at DE, with Wistrom gone. Not too bad.

Pick again in a few minutes. :wall:

We needed the depth. Again our D will be mucho greato

However, I'm still :(

They go Beekman, Allison, or LB.

Mansfield Wrotto, OG, Georgia Tech. 6-3, 310

Well, they took an offensive lineman. Problem is that I have him #160 on my sheet. While I don't mind taking a lineman here, this was huge reach.

You know, I was starting to think Ruskell paid attention to my thousands of death threats by letter and email and was starting to value draft, he goes and pull off this sh!t. Fock you, you bugeyed basturd.

I would have prefered Beekman. However, it might just be because I watched him.

We needed a guard and Wrotto's our guy.

I'd still like a TE and WR though.

As far as TE, they might go with a late round pick on

Kevin Boss, Western Oregon

Joe Newton, Oregon St

Since they played somewhat locally to them, they might like one of these guys enough to wait until near the end.

Regardless, Pollard is the starter this year. Rookie TEs just don't make an impact, other than Shockey. It takes time to learn the playbook when you have to go out for patterns and learn all the blocking schemes.

I know. Wrotto also doesn't even play this year. So he gets a full year to sit and learn. The guy will just have to grow on me.

My problem is this is essentially Wrotto for Darrell Jackson. So I guess I was just hoping for more flash. Than a wait a year and see guy.

Also Patrick is falling, I'm not sure why. So I assume GM's know more than me.

Now however. I'm intrigued by the reason why?

Kevin Boss is gone at TE. Allison gone at WR. Beekman gone at OG.

Ben Patrick is still around. A bunch of TE went before him. Since it looks like the teams ahead of Seattle don't need a TE, he should be available.

Based on what's available, Patrick is the way I would go.

It would be a steal for us. I don't understand why he is falling.

Will Herring, LB/SS, Auburn

Awful pick. I had him in the #300s on my sheet, last page.

Are you kidding me? Ruskell is the Antichrist. After the draft, he is going to an orphanage, gut every child in site, and drink their blood. :dunno: :dunno:

This draft is going to Hell faster and faster, and the front office has the gas pedal glued to the floor.

I don't even know who the hell that guy is.

This is F'n stupid.

Did Patrick rape Ruskell's daughter (or *gasp* son) :shocking: after the prom or something.

WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Oh yeah, if we're able to get him in round 6 we'll look like a genuis. F YOU!!!!

Day 1 he was a genuis. Day 2 he's the dumbist motherf0cker I ever met this side of Matt Millen.

I don't even know what to say of this kids fall. I know less of what the front office is thinking right now with their poosey footin management crap their feeding us when they say TE is fine.

I wouldn't be pissed about TE if we still had DJAX to throw to. I knew he would be gone, but figured TE would pick up the slack. Ain't gonna happen is it.

At this point, I say go get slap a$$ out of rehab/lockup. Kick him in the nutz again and get him back.

This is pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D  :P

I have put my Sharpie marker away. What's the point of crossing off players?

Apparently the front office has adopted a similar strategy.

O.K. I'm better now.

The first 3 picks were great.

Wrotto I can handle, as I'm liking the read ups I see of him, and knowing he'll sit a year.

I can't even explain that last pick.

David Ball is still available also. Mark it down when I say he's the next Ricky Proehl.

He will even compare to our guy Bobby Engram. You want a catch, a first down, you throw to him.

We could have gone a couple different ways, to just blow a pick is dumb.

If you want to blow picks. We had a 5th, two 6's and a 7th. Package all four for a guy you really want at the end of 4, or top of 5. Then you get someone you really want, and you won't have to worry about any more picks.

We're gonna invite about 10 to 15 guys who weren't drafted to camp, so why waste picks on maybe a special teams guy?

:shocking:

Webster on Wrotto: He called the former defensive lineman a player with a wide body, good strength, good balance and feet better suited to guard than tackle (meaning he doesn't move quite well enough to project as a good tackle); Ruskell said the "ceiling is higher" for Wrotto than it might be for Beekman, although he said Beekman is another good player.

I'm so glad I had to work last night. Have now been up for over 24 hours. And have Coors Light flowing like water.

Every time I see a teams selection come up. I get sick to my stomach waiting for Ben Patricks name.

I had him ranked #2 TE on my list. I must have really blew this one as everyone else is passing on him also.

I'm searching the web to try to find out why? Still can't find anything.

Kopy/Philly..easy fellas. It's all good :D

I think I'm gonna call the Hawks and beg them to take Patrick so one of you doesn't keel over in front of the TV. God, I hope Ruskell doesn't take Mason Crosby in RD 6 :dunno:

I'll be honest. I don't know about most of these guys getting drafted today, so I just go with the flow and wait to see how they perform in minis and training camp. I learned a long time ago never to get too wrapped up in the draft because all you do is set yourself up for disappointment when the team doesnt take the guy you think is the perfect fit.

I watch a sickening amount of college football. It's not quite watching all the film the scouts watch, but it's not too shabby. I do a decent job of projecting players for the NFL draft. I may take the draft too seriously, but it's with the best of intentions in mind.

Rd 6 pick coming up. Some good offensive value left (I think). What do you think about Dallas Baker?

#165 on my list. Not too bad, but there are a bunch of better players left. If they were gonna go WR, they should have taken Allison in the 4th round.

Courtney Taylor--Auburn. Right position, wrong player.

maybe they take the prospect Michael Allan next or in RD 7 for the TE spot.

Courtney Taylor was #87 on my list.

Actually, that is a very nice value pick. He was coming off an injury plagued season 2 years ago, which probably hurt his draft status this year. But he had a very nice year, under the radar.

I can honestly say, this was a pretty good pick. Good hands, good route runner, good possesion type of WR.

I like him alot better than Dallas Baker. I would have been done for the day if they drafted that clown.

I just think from the trade of DJAX through now. The draft has gone haywire.

We still have a pick at the end of the 6th round too.

Ben Patrick, Joe Newton, and Michael Allan are best TE prospect left.
