Big Blue 06 195 Posted June 11, 2007 When you guys farm, are you fighting only level 1's or just anyone? Level 1 only. When I'm only 50%, I only fight rating 1.9 or lower.
DrJ 0 Posted June 11, 2007 Level 1 only. When I'm only 50%, I only fight rating 1.9 or lower. Same here, but I'll do most of the 2.0 and 2.1's as well. I have 4 pages bookmarked, and I can kick almost everyone's ass on the 4 pages at 50%. I know the guys that I can't, because I can count them on one hand, so I just skip those dudes. By the time I am done with page 4, I can start over on page 1. And as you can see, it doesn't take that many battles to jump all the way back to the top. What you do when you are ready is kick the highest ranked guy's ass that you can. You're going to need to wait the full 2 minutes with almost all of the guys that high and you might as well get full strength to keep losses low. I can kick current guy #4's ass and below...#2 I am splitting with. I was down a bit at the time, so it was #2, and current dude #4 through #9. So I started my cycle with guy #2 and went though like 8. By the time you are done with those due to the 2 minute thing, you can kick guy #2's ass again though #8 or whatever you can actually beat. Eventually I ended on a win with guy #2 and then took him out of the rotation to stop getting losses, then just kept doing #3 though #8. And voila, I was #3. I am going to kick guy #4 though #8's asses a bunch of times over the afternoon and see if it gets me up to #2.
Big Blue 06 195 Posted June 11, 2007 Well, I just armed my spears and sold off my magic crap. I now have 323 everpoints to burn up trying to improve my strength.
DrJ 0 Posted June 11, 2007 Edjr, look at pages 14, 13, 12, 11, etc... Bookmark em for easy access. There are LOADS of weak Rank I's whose asses I'm sure you can kick at 50%. And the stronger you get, the more of them whose asses you can kick at 50%. Waiting a full 2 minutes is for the birds, that's only if you're fighting for #1. Well, I just armed my spears and sold off my magic crap. I now have 323 everpoints to burn up trying to improve my strength. I should make the plunge. I don't actually USE any of the magic stuff, I just keep it, hahaha. If I sold off my magical extras I'd be at like 200 everpoints myself, but for some stupid reason I insist that I have to keep Mage and anti Mage stuff, even though Mages blow chunks. I have an Agility 15 ring, and a Dex 10 Charm, but I'm operating on a Strength 9 right now. A strength 15 piece would put me clearly over the top of Sandman I think....or if I could get an arsenal of swords like yours. I keep getting focking shorts sworts and long swords....gimme a large sword you bitches!! Is a Pristine Celestrium Great Sword, a Pristine Celestrium Bastard Sword, and a Strength 15 amulet too much to ask for? Also, where the fock did Hulk get a level 25 scroll from? The best I have is a healing 21, and I'm tempted to ditch it because I hate making battles longer with all the heavy stamina pieces I have.

Big Blue 06 195 Posted June 11, 2007 Well, I just put a beatdown on this one dude; you could see the way it was going with my first shot: I used the Pristine Steel Great Sword for a CRITICAL hit of 55 damage.

DrJ 0 Posted June 11, 2007 Now that I'm ranked #3, I got people comin at me. jasieck attacked and beat me - that dude is a pimp and is 13-6 on me now. FBG_Winston_Wolfe tried his luck, and was rebuffed. I am 2-0 vs his sorry ass now. gorbus tried his luck, and was rebuffed. I am 5-0 vs his sorry ass now. We gotta take out these FBG bastards, there's too many of em.
DrJ 0 Posted June 11, 2007 You guys are all fighters.....Is anyone else a mage like me? I'm having a tough time The only way you can possibly be a mage is a heavy armor mage. You'll have to concentrate all of your spells into three areas so you can maximize your skill points. 240 skill points for armor, 50 for mage, 50 for offensive spell, then have 3 offensive skills at 50 each. Get like 4 level 20 spells, and about 6 15's so you aren't BLOWING stamina like mad. Or, you could go with your heal spell that you have and only 1 offensive area and just get a ton of good spells in that area. And....EVEN THEN, you're going to have trouble. Great swords are stronger than 20. And weapons also give you attribute bonuses, something that spells are lacking. The only thing that would be to your advantage is that there are few powerful mages, so not a lot of people are going to have resists stuff equipped whereas they keep agility stuff equipped because of the scores of powerful fighters. You also won't have the dilemma like I have of Celestrium vs Adamantine because Celestrium fits your skill set perfectly. The best armor protection in the game with a nice intellect bonus, it's like it's built for a heavy armor mage... Not sure that'll be enough, you can give it a try though. I'm certain you could hit page 1 as a heavy armor mage. You might even be able to pull off top 10, there are some weak ass fighters up here. Not sure about top 5 though, but seriously, give it a shot. Another update later today Could this finally be the stamina update? Better be ready guys. I'm ready - I currently don't go into negative stamina hardly ever, and I could reconfigure some items and stay on the plus side if I had to. Dump my level 19+ scrolls for some 15's, or drop a great sword for a 2nd non stamina using sword I have on the bench. OR, if I could come up with a friggin strength 15 piece so I do damage faster.... hoytdwow 202 Posted June 11, 2007 And weapons also give you attribute bonuses, something that spells are lacking. Dude, why is this? I posted over there on the message boards asking why spells didn't up your intellect or resists or whatever, and everybody was like The mods or whatever they are over there are such tools. They keep saying that mages are not at a disadvantage in the game, and that people just aren't doing it right, etc. etc. I've got everything invested in mage skillz but I've also got a couple of largeswords I have mostly spidersilk armor because it ups my stats. I found a celestrium chest but it was like only armor +8, while my silk chest is like +14 armor +1 strength +1 agility or something like that Basically I wail away on people with my spells, which are decent (15s), but I can't get through their armor with my weapons, so they just hang around the battle forever and kick my ass with swords. I'm still looking for the 20 spells.

I'm still looking for the 20 spells. The reason Celestrium was listed so low is because you didn't have any skill points into it. That rating jumps as you invest skill points, so you get 8 without a single bit of heavy armor skill. I have a Corroded Celstrium chest that is 40 Armor.... Without the corrosion, that'd be a 42 armor piece, and in Pristine condition it's like 44. You pretty much HAVE to go with heavy armor in the game, forget Spidersilk or Silksteel or silk focking anything. Then you need to concentrate on a single offensive weapon or two, and get as much crap in that area as you can. Do anything else, and you will not be strong. Well, unless you're fortunate enough to come up with a full Oiled Dragonscale Suit and then you can go with Light 70 armor. I've gotten 2 pieces of Dragonscale though, only 1 oiled, so if you pull off a full suit kudos to you. I fully believe that you could be a kickass mage like they're suggesting. Strongest character in the game? Not so sure... You can EVEN go with 240 armor, 100 into swords for your great swords, then throw another 150 into one offensive mage area. I went with that configuration, and I wasn't weak with it by any means. I was kicking some page 1 dudes asses. But I did have trouble with a guy or two that I wasn't otherwise. Not getting very far with it so far though. I think one of the most important things is to have 4 kick azz back pack items. They only hit once but they never miss and always hit for the full amount of damage. One of my characters has 21, 20, 19, and 17 in the back pack. That is 77 points of damage right off the bat. I am hoping to improve these while farming but I don't seem to come across many. Hopefully when this market thing opens up...
DrJ 0 Posted June 11, 2007 Yeah, I have an elf as well but I stopped using him because I can't build two crazy badass mofos. If mages ever become better, and my fighter is weak, I may work on him. But it became apparant to me fast that fighters were stronger in their system. Thing that sucks is I want him to be a mage, and I'm having the opposite problem with him - he's coming up with focking swords all the time and crap. I wish I could take his Mithril Great Sword somehow...

My 4 are: 22 20 19 19 21 20 20 19 Problem for me is that the 21 is a heal, and like I said I don't like making battles longer than they need to be with stamina being a commodity. It's not so much of a problem now that you can go negative, but if they go back to that old system where no stamina = dead, then heal spells = ENTIRELY worthless. No point in using stamina so that you can make a battle longer, thus requiring more stamina. Better to use your stamina for pummelling him before it runs out. Sold off another 20 when they had that old stamina system, because I had reconfigured entirely to 15's to save the 8 stamina. Wish I had that one now rather than this BS heal, but I'm sure another 20 will be along in the future for me.

DrJ 0 Posted June 11, 2007 Mine are 15, 15, 15 and 12 potion Very good configuration stamina wise...but this last update killed that. Before you could say that you were getting 15 damage points out of each stamina point, vs the 6.6 per stamina that someone with a 20 was doing. But now, that doesn't matter too much....pummelling as fast as you can and going negative isn't too terrible.

But, the small chance at getting them is all of the difference. There were a lot more weak Rank I's when I started this, they had guys that were 1-0 at Rank I, so I got a headstart while that was the case. But even still, there's some suckass dudes in Rank I. Yeah I did some runs when the ranks were all messed up, some of those guys were insanely easy to beat. Now there are about 20-25 guys at level 1 I can beat easily with 50% life. Once I've got them all, I move on to level 2 guys battle through them and then back to level 1 guys. I've gotten some pretty good items from level 2 codes, but most have been f'n mage stuff. Finally got a rare sword last night and a rare piece of arm armor though. In the case of S4ndM4n, I racked up like 3 wins (and probably 3 losses) and then ended it off on a win. I think 3 wins vs #4 is better than a win vs 4, a win vs 12, and a win vs 16 in their system. I'm guessing it has something to do with how the attributes line up. I bet if I loaded up on agility, you'd get a lot more misses? Perhaps your attributes do good against a balanced guy, but fall short against an agility monster? Trading in my strength piece for the dex piece has given me terrific results vs most opps, I was missing way too much without the dex piece. Maybe you want to switch it up depending on who you fight though. I don't think you can see battles if other people initiate. I just attacked him to see what was up and I lost by 56. Maybe I should slam out my strength against him and see what happens... altough, if he's attacking you that means he's farming again. That'll knock S4nd to 1 by default and me to #2 if jasieck doesn't come in and romp us both.

DrJ 0 Posted June 11, 2007 I guess the new update is going to cause people to have to diversify their offensive skills or something. Here's where I have a problem with this, in the last update thread they say that if you have 100 sword skill you will do more damage than if you have 50...blah blah. But, how can you get to 100 in anything if they're going to force us to diversify? Also, didn't read the mage broken thread before. I guess the deal with mages is this: They have a better chance to critical hit. And, if you increase your skill in mage armor, it helps you hit non mages?...
