*** '07 Player Projections By NFL Team ***

Recommended Posts

To prepare FFTodayers for the upcoming ’07 season, starting 5/14 will post threads listing offensive players by NFL team and invite posters to attach projections to each offensive player.

Posting of just commentary on one or mutliple players, instead of projections is welcomed and encouraged as well.

Will post 3 team threads per week (2 during 4th of July week) alphabetically by team city, so will have all 32 NFL teams posted before August 1st.

Through beginning of FF season will hopefully have this thread pinned as an ‘Archives’ thread, so will have opportunity to post replies for any previous team at any time.

Notes:

QB Dbrees: Will be 7th season, 2nd with Saints

RB Rbush: Will be 2nd season

WR MColston: Will be 2nd year

WR Dhenderson: Will be 3rd year

Key Questions For '07 Season:

Will Dbrees increase/decrease/stand pat in production?

Will Rbush continue to improve?

What will be carry (overall/rz/gl) distribution between Rbush and Dmcallister?

Will MColston increase/decrease/stand pat in production?

Will Dhenderson ‘step up’ in 3rd year?

Are the Saints an NFC Super Bowl team?

My projections:

Brees - 4,000 yards, 25 TD, 14 INT

Bush - 600 rush yards, 5 rush TDs, 80 rec, 700 rec yards, 3 rec TDs

McAllister - 950 rush yards, 7 rush TDs, 25 rec, 100 rec yards

Colston - 80 rec, 1,100 rec yards, 7 TD

Henderson - 55 rec, 900 rec yards, 5 TD

I think Brees is nearly a lock to get 4,000 passing yards. All those dump off passes to Bush just pads the stats. His 25 TDs is also a conservative estimate considering he's thrown 26, 24, and 27 over the past 3 years.

Bush - he set the bar pretty high last year, but I can't think of any good reason he won't repeat. He's like a WR in the RB position.

McAllister - I believe McAllister will either slow down, or simply lose yardage to Bush this year. The odds of two RBs on the same team both finishing in the top 12 again seems astronomical to me. Something's gotta give and I think it'll be McAllister's rushing TDs which was an amazing 10 last year while splitting carries.

Colston - I hate young WRs. They always screw me. But Colston came out as a rookie and played like a seasoned vet, kinda like Randy Moss and Anquan Boldin did. I'm somewhat conservative on Colton's TDs, but I think his receptions and yardage is money.

Henderson - could end up out performing everyone's projections, especially if Brees keeps throwing like he has. Joe Horn is now gone and there really is no recieving TE in NO. Henderson might be this year's M Furrey or J Cotchery. Tons of receptions... few TDs.

I agree with just about everything you've said EXCEPT about a receiving TE. The Saints acquired Eric johnson over the off season, and he is a receiving TE if there ever was one. Now injury prone YES, but a receiving TE none the less..

Really high on Bush for PPR leagues. Good value at the top of the second in 12 man leagues. WR1 level recs plus a greater potential for double digit TDs than any of the top flight WR1s. The yardage should be there too.

Don't see Deuce hitting 1000 yds on the ground with Bush getting a larger share of the carries.

Brees is going way too early for my liking. Seen him going in the third in many drafts. Overvalued at this point.

I'm wary of Colston being a flash in the pan. Wish I'd seen some more Saints games to form a more solid opinion, but for now I'll take more seasoned vets like Driver and AJohnson over Colston.

i dont think you will see bush in the 2nd round. in all the mocks i have done he has been picked mid 1st round. too high imo, especially in redraft, non-ppr leagues.
