Anyone apply for a passport recently?

Recommended Posts

Yeah, from what I hear you shouldn't leave the resort and there's probably no reason to anyway. Thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to try the mamawama shots and Sammy Sosa :music_guitarred: .

By the way, we are staying at the Paradisus Resort

yeah, the resort can set you up for activities if you want to do something. there's no reason to wander off the resort on your own, there's not much around at all.

a couple other popular drinks were Miami Vice (similar to the Sosa) and Dirty Monkey.

one other tip, avoid the casino as much as possible. they're bad news when you're there too long.

enjoy your trip!

Just got mine a couple weeks back. I paid an extra 60 bucks and got it in about 10 days.

My brother got one a couple months back and didn't pay to expedite, his took 3 months to arrive.

I don't vote. The last thing that they are going to want to heard from is a non-votin' chick bitchin' about her passport takin' too long.

absolutely not true. Congressional offices can assist with any problems with a federal agency. Passports, social security disability, medicare, immigration...

Do you think most of the people that call in with these types of concerns are registered voters?

It seriously does not matter. We've been helping with tons of passport problems. They are changing how things are going now though, and usually we are telling people to wit to call us right around 2 weeks before they leave. but going to mexico, I think all you need is a driver's license and proof that you have applied for your passport.

but the deal is, your congressional office can assist with this entire process. they have congressional liason's setup through the passport agency that caseworkers will contact to check on constituent's pending passports. They'll do all the calling and follow up so you don't have to. I would recommend you get ahold of your member of congress, tell them you are waiting to receive your passport and wondering if they might be able to assist you with the process.

Go to www.house.gov, enter your zip in the top left corner, and then you can click on your member's website and it will give you the contact info. trust me, its in your best interest to do this.

All right, cmh, sentored.

let me know what kind of response you receive

Think about it, this might be the only contact you ever have with your member of congress. if they are anything like our office, they are going to do everything they can to help you out...

It's good to know we can't win a war, but TNG will get her passport on time.

Mid-September.

I am really looking forward to it. Then, as soon as I get back from the cruise, I go to Vegas for a couple days for a work "meeting."

Nice!

I'm sure I'll start getting excited about my trip when it gets closer (next summer and still planning...).

The cruise came as a total surprise. My MIL entered her name into a drawing for a credit/gift certificate to a travel agency that specializes in cruises. She won, and since she and her husband don't travel, she passed it along to us. It will be nice, but scary at the same time, since we haven't been away from the kiddos for that length of time before. I am nervous about that.

Yeah, I remember when my son was small... being away from him for days like that would certainly be difficult and worrisome for me.

Don't worry though! It sounds like your kids will be in good hands with family. How nice that you and your hubby can get away alone for a few days and really enjoy eachother!

Sounds fabulous... try to enjoy every second of it!
