Losing dogs probably cost the operators money, so I assume they took out their frustrations. As horrible as that is, it doesn't mean they're future serial killers like kids who torture animals out of morbid curiosity. The comparison is meaningless IMO.

I'm not saying that Vick is going to grow up to be a serial killer. I'm just saying that he and his crew have to be some cold-hearted focks to be doing those kind of things to animals and I wouldn't put it past them to be violent with humans thus indeed making them a danger to our HUMAN society.

 

I'd bet that if Vick couldn't run a 4.3, he would've been a gangster (low level b/c he's so dumb) and he would've killed somebody by now. Hell, his little piece of sh*t brother already pulled a gun a some teenagers and that was with a football career on the line.

Former MIA TE, now with STL, Randy McMichael has twice been accused/charged with beating his wife. She has had 2 warnings (that we know of) but she continues to stay with Randy anyway (maybe for the $).

 

Now, if he beats her again, should I feel more sorry for her than I do for those dogs who had NO CHOICE but to suffer at the hands of Vick and his crew?

Part of dog fighting is breeding dogs to be inherently aggressive. They do this by abusing dogs, beating them, kicking them, cutting them; in a word INJURING the dogs deliberately, and THEN, having the dogs fight one another. The ones that do well in fighting while hurt they breed, with the idea that the pups, trained properly, will be the dog fighting champions. The ones that don't do well, they KILL, through the above mentioned procedures (hanging, drowning, body slamming (!), and in some dog fighting rings, a gunshot to the head).

 

Disgusting and despicable, to kill an animal, just because it couldn't fight well enough AFTER they were tortured.

These a$$holes are also known to go to the local pound and "adopt" dogs which they then use as some sort of sparring partner against their Pit Bulls. You can imagine how that goes for these "adopted" mutts.

 

PETA and the ASPCA had been aware of and had been tipped off to Vick for years. Of course and unfortunately, animal abuse is never a priority for law enforcement so this thing went on and on. Those dogs suffered unimaginable cruelty and there will be no justice for them but all we can hope for is that the headlines from this case deter others from doing the same as Vick and his crew.

 

Maybe some of these focking Vick supporters should come out in defense and support of abused animals instead of a heartless moron like Vick (even if he is black).

I sort of agree with both of you. I don't put dogs on the same level as people, or anywhere near the same level. At the same, I agree with some of your points regarding these women having choices. A lot of women seek out the "bad boy" types, and if they're going to do that, well, I won't quite say they're getting what they deserve because nobody deserves to be treated that way, but...

 

I guess too many years of being "you're like a brother to me" guy has left me kind of jaded on that whole thing.

I'll give you this: it should be looked at as a case-by-case basis.

 

For example:

 

There was a woman here in Miami who got battery acid thrown on her by some abusive boyfriend. She is horribly disfigured for life. That was easily as cruel as what Vick did if not worse and will call for far more punishment than what Vick gets b/c she is a human and not a dog. I don't blame her for any part of that and that guy should fry.

 

On the other hand, if Randy McMichael's wife gets ###### slapped at Waffle House again, I don't think that's anywhere near as bad (not even close) to what those dogs went thru.

- i was not talking only about a shiner.....i was talking about the road this relationship is taking and how it's going to affect the woman, the man, and the worst part of it if it is part of it, the kids. i see a lot of bad coming out of it in the future. i put a lot more stock in humans than animals. i love animals and have had many dogs in my life but to me they're ultimately just that....animals.

They have their self esteem and freedom removed little by little, at almost unnoticable levels until, in their minds, they have no choice but to stay with their abuser. Most of the time, the abuser isolates the victim from their family and friends, in many cases moving thousands of miles away, in order to prevent them from being able to leave easily.

I disagree in your assesment of women getting beatin. I value women more than I do dogs. If confronted with a man beating a woman while 10 feet away a man drowning a dog...I'd stop the man beating the woman before I'd go after the guy drowning the dog.
