BC looks so tempting, especially at +3.5 now. But every #2 (and #1) has fallen in a big spot this season. The only difference this time is BC actually enters the game as the #2 team...and the underdog.

No, you guys don't. I'm losing this year in college, and I have to fix it. Anyone that is paying attention to me is losing money, and there is no easy way to deal with that guilt. I may or may not still post later this year, but I doubt it.

 

I am unsure if I will continue to post CFL. That's been doing well, and I don't want to bring bad luck to myself by discontinuing to post.

I do not have XM, and never will. They suspended the boys for a month, and those asscondoms lied about how subscriptions were canceled as a result. And they hit the dump button on O&A. Yeah, uncensored radio. Fock them. And there is no point to putting a unit in my car, as I take public transportation to work.

 

WYSP was a station I turned on at 5:00 AM and never turned the dial until past 7:00 PM. I loved their comedy/talk format. When they flipped formats to "rock", which is in reality mostly classic rock, I only listened to O&A and Kidd Chris, so I was down to 7 hours a day. Now, I'll be down to just 4 hours. Thank God there is a real rock station in town, a station flipped to modern rock around April. And their ratings have skyrocketed to #4 in the market in just a couple of months, easily beating any other rock station in the city. Meanwhile, WYSP flips formats to compete with the other 2 rock/classic rock stations. I can't describe how stupid this is. They are chasing after a tiny audience. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

 

I plugged my headphones into my computer at work, and I am streaming the New York station with O&A. I figure I can pick up a feed from Cleveland or Washington or some other station that carries the replay in the late morning or early afternoon. I need my fix.

 

I will send another angry email to WYSP. And I will send my weekly email to Preston and Steve, again explaining to them in painstaking detail why their show is unfunny and faggity. And for them to get AIDS and die.

I wouldn't feel guilty about the picks and especially now with the the streak that you're on. We appreciate the insight, the write ups and especially the humor you bring to this thread every week.

 

Your posts in these threads has changed my betting style forever. In the past, I had tried to find the favorites that I liked the most and gave away those points. Your example of finding good dogs to bet has really improved my capping ability and this year I am playing 60-70% dogs and having success. I thank you for that change.

 

Continue to post and have fun with it. When it turns around it will be all the sweeter. With your thorough statistical analysis, I never thought you were the superstitious type.

They will tomorrow...The run defense of BC will shut them down. BC would be favored by 6-7 points in a neutral field and 10 points at home. VT does have a big home field advantage, but it's not 10 points big.

Absolutely right. Let me add that, after last Saturday, there's no reason to give me any credibility.

 

Offensively, BC has a strong statistical edge across the board (National rankings).

 

Passing: BC #8, VT #101

 

Rushing: BC #72, VT #90

 

Scoring: BC #29, VT #55

 

Defensively, where I assumed VT would be significantly stronger, it's really very close.

 

Passing: VT #14, BC #15

 

Rushing: BC #1, VT #17

 

Scoring: VT #8, BC #18

 

Even that old Hokie staple, turnover margin, favors BC (#2, VT #38)

 

I haven't really looked at comparative schedules, but the raw numbers favor the Eagles. Of course, there's also the national spotlight and hone field to consider. But I'd say that BC +3.5 is the way to go. To me, the line reflects the public perception that VT doesn't lose at home and will somehow 'Beamer Ball' their way to a win, while BC is overrated and just the next #2-by-default waiting to get knocked off. I would disagree with both.

Love BC in this spot tomorrow. VaTech is a solid team, but I think people are thinking they are one of the teams from the early 00's. Simply put, I don't like their offense much, and if BC can shut down the running game VT is done. Is Glennon starting for VT. He can't lead that team to victory.

Even though i stopped posting picks a few weeks ago cause i was doing poorly with the strategy i was using, i have kept making some small bets but strictly with home dogs and public fades and its paid off pretty well the past few weeks. I might start posting these games just for info purposes.

Guys, my bed shatting of last Saturday puts me a game over .500 for the season. Good or bad...up or down... every pick is on me...only me. Just won my 2nd NHL ML in a row in a tonight. Last night was an easy one with Anaheim -1.5 (+210). And tonight was a nice miracle cover that I wrote off hours ago. Had Calgary -1.5 (+220) and Minnesota was up 3-0 with a lot of time left in the first period. Calgary then scored 3 of their own in the 2nd period and 2 more early in the 3rd and played solid defense to win 5-3.

 

I know next to nothing about hockey and can't name any players other than Sidney Crosby, Joe Thornton, and a bunch of Red Wings (who I'm not entirely sure if they still play anymore)! Betting very small amounts on very high-paying MLs but there's no way I can keep something like this up. It'll catch up to me eventually.

 

Also won the first five inning over (-4.5, -105) in the Red Sox-Rockies game which cashed in the 2nd inning. It's the only thing allowing me to stomach this f'n debacle. Sox not only are going to torture me again, but they're going through the hottest team in baseball in the last 2 months to do it. Eccccch!

 

Anyway, what you got for tomorrow Yer Mom? The big national TV game, or the little New Mexico game that's falling by the wayside?

I'm all about the BC team over (Olympic has it at 20 right now; waiting for Sportsbook.com to post a line and then I'm going big on any line 21 points or less). BC has scored at least 24 points in every game this season and their advantage in the turnover ratio over VT can only help them get to 3+ TDs.

 

Even though I was one second from having it bite me on the ass in the LSU game (took Over 27 because they scored at least 28 in every game that preceded it), I'm riding BC's scoring streak.

BC +3.5 @ Va Tech: Teams are close defensively, but BC is the far better offense. I think the Eagles are a solid football team that won't get rattled by the Hokies and crowd. WINNER

 

I won't touch the other game. Air Force has been poison to me this year. Think I've missed every game in which they've been involved, regardless which way I picked. My only hope would be a Costanza-like commitment to the opposite.

F@#$! I knew not having money in my Olympic account would come back to haunt me. Horrible line and even worse payout when OLY offers O20 for -115.

 

I'll still take it at that line and that price though. Just would rather have more palatable choices.

 

BTW, if anybody thinks it's a bad bet, by all means, chime in. I'm going off of past stats and my expectations of the #2 team in the country (which obviously means nothing this season!) If you have a better grasp of how VT performs or if BC just doesn't step up in a big game situation, let me know.

That was one of the biggest miracle covers I ever had. I won two bets on that one play (over for the game and the 2nd half).

 

Of course, I've had games taken from under me that were in the bag (the Vandy-SC game that started the first quarter with 17 points and ended with 26 rings a bell), but you typically remember the good wins over the bad beats!
