Andy Reid

Recommended Posts

On the street I grew up on, all but one of us kids had both parents, some even had stay at home parents.

All but 1 has done jail time for mostly drug charges and a couple(myself included) for DUI. ONLY ONE!!!

3 ended up committing murder!!!

It is only a 3 block street. Not all of this was poor parenting.HTH

sorry meph, but most the drugs that the reid boys were on/selling were not "illegal" drugs but prescription drugs that were found all over the house.

Sorry surferskin, among other things, their big problem is currently heroin. And again with the "all over the house."

Unlike much of what has been posted by dopes like you, I reiterate:

- There was NOTHING illegal found at the house.

- They were NOT selling drugs out of the house.

Well technically, they WERE.

Since they weren't IN the house when they sold drugs.

I think it's really unfortunate what the Judge said. He/She was apparently referring to years of over-medication on legal drugs (something the Reids WOULD be aware of) and the plethora (apparently) of legal drugs found in the house when the "Drug Emporium" comment was made. Regardless, that Judge had to know those comments would be repeated. Quite frankly, it wouldn't be beyond the real of reason to file a complaint about such a statement, but I'm sure the Reid's don't want to pixx off the judge at this point.

Only because they were cramming things up their ass like edjr at a family reunion.

I don't think the judge said what he said entirely for the purpose of drawing attention to himself... but I think a part of it may have been that since this IS so highly publicized, making a comment like that is sending a message to ALL parents to stay on top of sh!t - because it CAN and DOES happen right under your nose and your actions/inactions could enable it to happen... even if it meant throwing the Reids' under the bus.

oh, so the judge wasn't grand standing now? the reids are somewhat responsible for what goes on under their roof?

also, the cops didn't find anything "illegal" but they did find among other large amounts of prescription drugs including, oxycotton and syringes...but i guess that's not a big deal. and at least they weren't dealing drugs directly out of the house

Mephisto, i get what your saying. But on one hand you're saying, they're men now and Reid can't influence them anymore. Then on the other hand, you're saying he shouldn't have kicked them out because where they would end up if that happened.

I'm not judging reid, but its funny how everyone keeps calling them kids and saying they need help but someone like chris henry (the WR, not the rb) is a thug/delinquent. He came into the league real young as well.

But yea, sh1t happens. Its hard to raise your kids when you have money/fame. A lot of kids end up feeling entitled to sh1t. Maybe they thought they were untouchable because of their status or something. If he was keeping them in his house and trying to get them straight, i think he should've stepped down. But, now its too late since the kid is in jail. Who knows, maybe he thinks his own son deserves jail and maybe this will set him straight. An extended version of scared straight or something.

Learn to read... and to spell. Learn to get your facts straight. You lost this argument a long, long time ago.

Wow, I truly had forgotten how many stupid people roam this forum. I didn't say that Reid can't influence them anymore. While I said that they are grown men and grown men are generally outside their parents sphere of influence - it's in the context of their situation. Obviously, Reid didn't teach them to be drug abusers. He didn't teach them to be drug dealers. He didn't teach them to wave guns in the face of innocent citizens. Those influences came from elsewhere.

Somewhere along the lines, the parents didn't get through to their kids... I dunno. Maybe the kids just didn't focking care, like you said - the sense of entitlement. I'm certain that the Reids feel a very high level of failure given the circumstances. The simple point I have been trying to make from the outset is that parents aren't the only influences on their children's lives... and we all hope and pray that those folks that also have some measure of influence in our kids' lives as they grow up into adults... aren't the kind who find a way to put your offspring in a position to go down such a horribly wrong path.

The people who don't get that reality are either NOT parents or just too stupid to realize/remember the reality of who and how many others influence children throughout their journey to adulthood.
