NorthernVike 2,080 Posted April 16, 2008 Corny? yes. But it is still better than the guys that do it on the jumbo-trons at sporting events. unless she says no and they keep the cameras on his face.
NewbieJr 540 Posted April 16, 2008 I was playing in a slowpitch softball league back in 1993. I worked it out ahead of time with the home plate umpire. I hired a banner-towing plane to fly over with a sign asking my wife to marry me. I was playing third base at teh time. When you could hear a plane approaching, teh umpire stepped in front of the plate and waved for a timeout. No one, playing or watching, knew what was going on. As soon as the ump called timeout, I ran off the field and went into my bat bag, where I had the ring. By this time, the banner was getting close enough to read. My girlfriend/soon to be fiance, finally realized what was going on as she saw me running up to her with the ring. All the players and their girlfreinds/wives/friends, etc. were on their feet and clapping as I took a knee and asked her to marry me. She was bawling her eyes out as she accepted and jumped into my arms. My wife says it was the last romantic thing I ever did.
