IGotWorms 4,060 Posted June 4, 2008 Obsess much mmmmm...beer? I guess I think I have a right to obsess about this... sort of a big thing in my life for the next few days until it hopefully meets the reserve price. OK, but how do you justify talking to yourself? mmmmm...beer 814 Posted June 5, 2008 OK, but how do you justify talking to yourself? Uhhhmm..... $6600.

mmmmm...beer 814 Posted June 6, 2008 Shoulda taken it to Barrett-Jackson. $7,099.00.... Sweeet getting closer!
mmmmm...beer 814 Posted June 6, 2008 You know... I've rethought my feelings on revealing the reserve. The reserve is 10k... I got to thinking last night.. not telling people the minimum I'll take for it is stupid. Sorry about that... I got all caught up in the ebay crap. There's no reason not to let you guys know what the reserve is. 10k is a pretty cheap reserve for my car. I looked it up on the NADA guide Mustang 289/225 HP Eng'a' Low Retail Average Retail Value High Retail $8,910 $18,920 $32,230 http://www.manheimgold.com puts it at: Between $12,000 (Good) - $21,000(Excellent)............................they have show quality @ $29,
IGotWorms 4,060 Posted June 6, 2008 I'd buy it if I had 10k burning a hole in my pocket. But unfortunately, I've just got a hole in my pocket.

mmmmm...beer 814 Posted June 6, 2008 CURRENT BID US $10,000.00 RESERVE MET!! That you 29?
mmmmm...beer 814 Posted June 6, 2008 hate to get divorced over this Here's the thing with a classic mustang 29... It's the same thing I told my wife. Unless someone smashes it up or cuts it up to modify it... it will NEVER..... NEVER be worth less than what you buy it for. All these other cars everyone buys.... plummet like a rock. Go buy a new mustang.... worth 5 grand less when the tires hit the tar on the road outside of the dealership. With this car.... if something goes down... whatever and you need to sell it. Throw it back on ebay... I mean.. look at the interest in this car... 20 bids with a day and a half left to go on the auction? Take care of it and don't mod it and it will not treat you wrong. Oh and another thing... if you use Hagarity Classic Car insurance to use it for for 4000 miles a year *IE just cruising on weekends and taking it to shows* 1 year of insurance = $140 dollars. No sh!t I about crapped.... that's for a replacement value of 14000. You have to be able to prove it's not your daily driver... meaning show them insurance declarations for your other vehicles but still.. focking sweeeeet. Oh and they have a stipulation that it has to be housed in a locked garage as well... no biggy...
29 Guests 29 Posted June 6, 2008 Another thing, has the car ever been wrecked? It's a beauty, that's for sure.

I know it's been repainted once the old man told me back in the early 80's.

mmmmm...beer 814 Posted June 6, 2008 I sense a bid retraction coming... Meh... be crazy too... if he gets it at that price he could probably turn around and put a buy it now price for higher on it and flip it.
Pootie Tang 0 Posted June 7, 2008 Meh... be crazy too... if he gets it at that price he could probably turn around and put a buy it now price for higher on it and flip it. ...says the trustworthy car salesman! just kidding...hope the transaction works out. I have sold stuff where the price get bid up just so the potential buyers see the reserve only to back out. Then they snipe at the end. working the ebay rules. mmmmm...beer 814 Posted June 7, 2008 Boy you know I was already to watch the end of my auction tonight... just looked again... and it happens to be TOMORROW night... sheesh... way to go brainiac!! Heh... Boy I'm stupid sometimes.
mmmmm...beer 814 Posted June 7, 2008 I have sold stuff where the price get bid up just so the potential buyers see the reserve only to back out. Then they snipe at the end. working the ebay rules. Well the good thing is, is that everyone knows what the reserve is and it's met now... that way their really can't be super sniping going on.... I think they're will be some people who will be trying to win it at the end with the high bids in like the last minute or so.... but we'll see... There are still 62 people that have it on their "Watch List". I personally hope a 29 Geeks gets it... that way I can "keep up" with it's progress. I'm thinking he maybe going to keep it pretty original.

potts17 4 Posted June 8, 2008 I think it's sort of funny that you took the pictures of it in a Wal-Mart parking lot! Was your driveway that hideous that the only other place you could take pictures of it at was Wal-Mart? I hope the sale goes well for you.

Was your driveway that hideous that the only other place you could take pictures of it at was Wal-Mart? I hope the sale goes well for you. Hah ... no.. I just wanted to be able to get some decent over all pics, not having my house and all the other crap in the way. If you look at the auction listing and click on the additional pictures you can see I have a few in my driveway actually. Their the ones with the green grass that grows like a frickin banshee in the background! Walmart is about 3 blocks from the house and I went and got a new car cover for the 'stang so I decided to take some pics while I was there and it turned out to be a nice sunny day!
