Guess the 10 spot is the place to be. I would have loved to have Barber there. Good choice, Solo.

Remote, would you have taken Barber at 1.11 if he was still available?

I'm glad Ray took McGahee out of the equation for me at 1.12. Logic says that he will fare well in Cam Cameron's offense there, but their QB struggles plus McGahee's inability to produce good TD numbers scare me.

Don't fear it.....use it.....USE IT!!!

;)

This is worst case scenario for me. Yes, I would have taken Barber, and now I am forced to consider the almost unconsiderable for me. This might take a few minutes.

I had Barber at #7 on my list, I feel he's going to have a huge year now that that other guy is gone,

Wow! This is a tragic break from any scenario I wanted to consider. Just too many questions surrounding the other players I was considering, for a 1st round selection. Now, I know one of the three will be there around the corner, so Moss it is. :headbanger: :pointstosky:

I have been in 3 other drafts where both Moss and Brady were gone by pick 7, leaving some good stuff to tumble. That was not the case here. One thing I am certain of, is of the 4 players I considered, Fumble was gonna take Moss. The other 3, I wasn't quite as sure of and I'm guaranteed one of them.

Yeah, I was prepared to take Lynch and Moss. Now, I've got to think about this second pick a bit.

Two weeks ago I would have been all over Lynch, but the press is scaring me some. The other thing that bothers me is how he is acting. This thing should be over!! His actions are not only perpetuating it, but they are also making the ramifications more serious. They are really digging. Now this stuff will likely hold over legally till after the season, as that is usually what happens, but Goodell might want to jump in a bit early, and he is jumpy. He was one of the players I was definitly looking at and likely would not have made it back past me though.

1.01- ICEMAN- RB LaDainian Tomlinson, SD

1.02- Vikings4Ever- RB Adrian Peterson, Min.

1.03- Clash of the Titans- RB Steven Jackson, Stl.

1.04- Gratefulted- RB Brian Westbrook, Phi.

1.05- Paulinstl.- RB Joseph Addai, Ind.

1.06- Dan- RB Clinton Portis, Was.

1.07- Fantasy King- RB Frank Gore, SF

1.08- JScott- QB Tom Brady, NEP

1.09- Ray Lewis' Limo Driver- RB Willis McGahee, Bal.

1.10- The Soloist- RB Marion Barber III, Dal.

1.11- Remote Controller- WR Randy Moss, NEP

1.12- Fumbleweed- RB Marshawn Lynch, Buf.

This first round was nightmare for me. Brady and Moss had been going earlier in previous mocks I had participated in, leaving a few nice backs to fall to the corner. Compounding this was the potential legal issues shrouding Lynch currently. I had him as a clear top 9 prospect until those issues arose. That left me a with a choice between Moss, LJ, Grant and lynch. I was thankful Ray grabbed Willis, as I had him as a 2nd rounder, or corner guy at the earliest. Moss gave me the best oppurtunity to score regularly with my first rounder, and there was no way Fumble was allowing him to fall back to me at pick 2.02. This was a very good first round over all, and not a draft where anything slid by anyone above me. I would have loved to grab Gore or Barber in the first, then got Wayne on the rebound, as I feel Fumble would have went Moss/Lynch on the corner.

My take on round one is that is was rather normal for what I have seen this year in mocks on other forums on which I frequent. The main difference was that Brady typically did not get taken until the second, most often midway through..... There is a considerable amount of murmuring in FF circles that the O-line will be a big liability, and Maroney won't be able to provide enough running to keep Defenses off the passing attack. Regardless, Brady remains a solid pick in the first, though I would have taken him at 11 or 12, not at 8....JMHO

Again, the first round is a solid mirror to pretty much every mock I have been in thus far...

Solid first round, not a lot of surprises. Maybe a little bit at Brady, but that's mostly because I don't see him repeating his numbers from last year, which this draft position suggests. I definitely think that Moss in the first round is going to happen consistently, if only because there aren't the string of "sure-fire" starting RBs, and the picking and separating starts much earlier this year.

Actually, if you could guarantee me that Brady would put up the exact same numbers as last year, I'd take him #1 overall, not #8. I think #8 assumes some drop down to the 35-38 TD range.
