shredhead 21 Posted July 8, 2008 Depending on the scoring for WR's and RB's, I'd take Peyton Manning in that spot. What type of scoring system has Brandon Marshall ranked WR1 and Terrell Owens as WR7?

That jumped out at me too. Its 1 point per reception and 1 point and 10 yards / point rushing and receiving.

FantasyKing 4 Posted July 8, 2008 There is something very wrong with whatever this ranking is. Frank Gore is who I would take, and he is in the 6th tier of RBs for some reason
scasarano 0 Posted July 8, 2008 I was thinking that too. FFToday projects Marshal at 1450 yards and 10 TDs. It also projects Gore at 983 Yards and 5 TDs. Looks like they need to update their projections.

Looks like they need to update their projections. First, you have to be sure you trust the rankings. If you do, then look at who is available and ADP. Based on his ADP, you might be able to get Manning int he 2nd round. So why take him at 9? Heck why take a QB that high at all? Good value for QBs in rounds 4-6. Take Portis at 9, come back with Reggie Wayne in the second and thank me later

kmbryant09 1 Posted July 8, 2008 This really is a tough one - how many people in the league?? Manning is the safest/most consistent pick, but I may reach for a RB like Portis or Gore here just because of the lack of depth at the position. Coming back to you at Round 2, maybe Manning is still on the board (if so, grab him). If not, I would say Wayne, TO, or Fitz in PPR leage (he has 100 catches 2 of the last 3 years)
GDogg 0 Posted July 9, 2008 I would take Portis or Gore and come back and take Maurice Drew at 2.02. I would not take a QB here or in the 2nd. I'd take Portis (or Gore) here because he probably doesn't make it back to you in Rd. 2. Maurice Drew will then be sitting all by himself as the last remaining RB in his tier, which is the guy you should usually take (drafting based off tiers) if you trust your rankings. Look at your WR options. Your top guy has an ADP somewhere in the 4s. Stranger things have happened, but one of those four in your top WR tier could be there when you draft again in the 3rd (probably your top guy). And, one of the guys in your 2nd WR tier will almost surely be there when it's your turn again. If you draft a WR at 2.02, then you know Drew will be gone when it gets back to you in the 3rd, and you'll probably be picking an RB out of your 6th tier. Let the tiers guide you. Based off your projections, ADP, tiers and my own thoughts, I'd go Portis/Drew assuming he's still there. Then, turn around and grab the best WR's remaining in my next two picks (unless a stud RB drops).
WoodDuck2003 0 Posted July 9, 2008 Since you are going to get 2 of the next 4 picks and Gore/Portis/McGahee/Lynch are all still on the board I would take 2 of these guys. I personally like Portis over Gore this year but you could put all 4 of these guys in a bucket and pick one b/c at this point they are all about the same. Then when you come back in the 3rd and 4th you I would bet you could still get Brees and possibly TJ, Colston, or Edwards. I think the drop from say Manning to Brees or Wayne to TJ would not be near as big as the drop from Portis/Lynch to Maroney/White (or similar type RBs). Just my opinon but I think you have a very good chance of having: Portis Lynch TJ Brees through 4 rounds and that is a very solid start with not many questions. Both RBs are in good situations and are not competing for time, Brees is a proven top 5 QB, and TJ is a solid top 10 WR and a true WR1 in any fantasy format. Anyway, that is how I see it, hope that helps. I would not spend a 1st or 2nd rd pick on a QB unless the scoring was very, very favorable for top in QBs. scasarano 0 Posted July 9, 2008 Thanks for all of the advice. I'm really not happy with FF's projections right now. I still need to import some projections from other sites.
WoodDuck2003 0 Posted July 9, 2008 Yeah I would have to agree that these predictions suck! I can not imagine a single scenario where B.Marshall is the #1 WR and Gore falls that far. I would get another source for ranking.
