MLCKAA 574 Posted September 6, 2008 pump your brakes, kid, you're talking to a guy who voted for reagan, bush sr, and bush jr (once). there are a lot of reasons i'm voting for obama. is he perfect? no. he's human, like all of them. but... --the last 8 years have been some of the biggest and most disgraceful years in our country's history. and there's no focking way in hell i'm going to vote for any republican who has been sitting on his ass for 26 years and voting with bush 90 percent of the time the past 8 years and who just a month ago got all concerned about about our dependence on oil. --the savings and loan scandal and mccain's part in that (and a big part it was). --the fact that there isn't a new idea in mccain's head and even in his latest speech he did nothing but trot out tired bush lines, phrases, and policies. --health care. you can argue that the government shouldn't be involved but the raping of american people by drug companies and the exorbitant cost of health care has got to stop. and, sorry, a few token tax credits are an insulting bandage on the gaping problem. --unions. i'm a union guy (which hasn't stopped me from voting republican in the past). but i'm sick and focking tired of old, rich, white guy asshats like mccain laying all the blame for our economic woes on unions. sick of it! fock THEM! christ, i thought after listening to him frothing at the mouth last night about unions that i was going to get rounded up by his thugs like a jew or something. sorry, he can suck my big, fat d!ck. --change. the only "change" person out there is obama. will his plans work? he deserves the chance. we sure as fock know the bush plans--which mccain parrots to a tee--aren't worth a flying fock. tax companies that ship jobs overseas? hell yeah! the ivy-league economists and fat cats can whine about it and get out their pie charts and graphs, but enough! it's time the american people stopped subsidizing greedy corporations who'd just as soon put a boot on your throat as look at you. i've got a lot more reasons why. you go grab a case of snickers and tell me when you're ready. You're saying you favor taxing companies that ship jobs overseas? Such a move will NOT prevent job losses to foreign countries. Understand that corporations DO NOT pay taxes. They do not pay fines. It all gets added into the cost of products. Any corporation in position to outsource production to another company has cost accountants that will help them increase their unit prices enough to offset any fines, thus jobbing the American consumer. The real answer to economic stability and new industry is lowering corporate tax rates. Most nations in the EU have corporate tax rates 2/3 lower than the US. Ivy League economists complain about this stuff because they know a lot about it. What? you think they get rich complaining about bad economic ideas? If economists don't like it, that probably means it sucks.
MLCKAA 574 Posted September 6, 2008 what? fox? ANY of the network or cable news fronts is more credible than Kos. Much as I loathe MSNBC, its 1000 times more credible. And that says a lot because MSNBC is lower than turtle barf.
Recliner Pilot 61 Posted September 6, 2008 what? fox? A derelict standing on a steet corner in piss-stained underwear with a crayon in one hand and a chalkboard in the other screaming at people driving by "Who ya votin fer" and keeping a running tally by making an X on his right butt cheek for McCain and a C on his left butt cheek for The Clown would be more scientific than the Dailykos. And that says a lot because MSNBC is lower than turtle barf. msnbc reported this same story last night at the rnc. this was the only print version i found handy. you can't argue the national polls are misleading and to some extent irrelevant. it's all about the electoral vote. MDC 7,419 Posted September 6, 2008 Obama abandoned his Seante seat almost as soon as he got it. If he's really in favor of ending "politics as usual" and making Washington accountable, then why doesn't he finish out his term. This is his first freaking term. Unlike Palin, no one came and ASKED Obama to run for the white house. The people who invested a senatorial vote in Obama deserve to get a 6 year term out of him. He claims to care so much about his constituency. I have no qualms with McCain or Biden leaving behind a seat to run, because they've gotten past their first term. Obama barely got past his first year. The people of his district were cheated and hornswoggled. I think the McCain campaign has been using that criticism of Obama pretty regularly. Recliner Pilot 61 Posted September 6, 2008 if so, it's a weak play. very weak. Yeah, they should just play the tape of Obama saying he wouldn't run for national office in '08 cuz he wouldn't be experienced enough.

MDC 7,419 Posted September 6, 2008 if so, it's a weak play. very weak. They've made a big deal of his lack of experience, only two years in the Senate, surrogates of McCain have remarked that Obama felt like the world couldn't live without him, etc. I'm not sure what else they're supposed to do? McCain is presumably missing votes while he campaigns, too. His VP is less than two years into her first term as governor.
