karmarooster 0 Posted September 11, 2008 So here are the numbers: DeAngelo Williams 18, 86 yards Jon Stewart 10, 53 yards Hoover 1, 3 yards NO TDs Team Average 29 rushes, 142 yards. YPC 4.9 also, Deangelo williams 1 catch, 4 yards, so not much PPR bonus. Delhomme had 41 pass attempts. What do you think? Will they rush more? How about TDs? do the panthers run often in the red zone? Either RB would be legit if they could add a TD and keep that YPC. Did either RB run in the red zone against San Diego? **Week 2 vs. Chicago, at home
kutulu 1,664 Posted September 11, 2008 Maybe I'm superstitious, but I still refuse to bench Steven Davis.
Belushi 9 Posted September 11, 2008 They didn't pull Williams in the red zone against SD. But they never had any short goal-line opps that I can remember. Looks like whoever is in for the series will stay in for goal-line work. This is still a run-first team and I'm sure they'll put up good rushing numbers. Just a question of which back will get the carries each week, but it looks like its Williams for now.
wiffleball 4,789 Posted September 11, 2008 Didn't CAR lose like 3-4 STARTING O-linemen last week? Nobody's talking about that. - Because whiny QB's get all the attention, but as goes the O-line, so goes the passing AND rushing game. I'd be damn nervous if I had a CAR RB. wiffleball 4,789 Posted September 11, 2008 You sure you're not confusing them with Jacksonville? yeah, you're absolutely right. I always confuse those two teams - didn't they come out in the same year? Crazy. Always do that. - Apologies. Now, if you have a JACKSONVILLE RB... This is just brutal: The Jaguars lost guard Vince Manuwai for the season with the torn ACL suffered in Sunday's loss to the Titans. Right guard Maurice Williams and center Brad Meester are out indefinitely with torn biceps. Backup left tackle Richard Collier is out for the season after being the victim in a shooting incident last year. Jax is going to have a very long year. Yeah, I didn't hear anything about them losing even a single O-Linemen.. I think you have your late 80s-early 90's franchise teams mixed up dude.
karmarooster 0 Posted September 11, 2008 Is anyone out there Starting D-Will this week? He's at home, and they still don't have steve smith, so i think he's in store for 15-20 carries again, and he's always had a pretty good YPC clip for his entire career, somewhere 4.5-5.5. However the bears look like the bears from a few years ago. they completely shut down Addai and Rhodes ON THE ROAD against Indy last week. Granted, Jeff Saturday was out, but he's important because of the signals he calls, not so much because of his run blocking. although maybe the backup center did not do very well calling out signals for run blocking, who knows... Stats from Indy vs. Chicago: As a team, Indy had 15 rushes for 55 yards, 3.5 YPC. Now its important to remember that Addai came out sometime in the 3rd if i remember with a head injury. How does this sound for D-Will this week: 16 carries, 75 yards, 1 reception, 5 yards, 1 TD It's the TD i'm interested in. At home, without pugilist smith... seems likely, even against the bears??? Obviously if the game were in Chicago i would think it unlikely that Carolina have a rushing TD, but on the road can the bears prevent a rushing TD two weeks in a row? He did get a lot of touches last week and did pretty good against San Diego on the road. Steve Smith is still out. DeAngelo has looked really good. I have him but won't start him over Calvin Johnson at flex. I am picking Carolina to win this week in my suicide league. :crossesfingers:
