Hang In There

What's the coolest thing you have?

Recommended Posts

Winnah!!

I read in an after market parts catalog one time that every part in the powertrain of the FJ is 50% heavier than the same part on a Wrangler. Can you say beefy? FG's are just bullet proof.

The only problem with those beefy parts is paying for them.

Old quilt that my great-great-grandmother made, rocking chair from the same era. Both items came over on a covered wagon; Tennessee to Texas, eventually to CA.

Lead-crystal bowl that my great-grandfather brought over from Wales with him, around 1900. Bowl is from way before that, since it belonged to his mother, but there is no date on it.

Several tin-type pictures, old postcard pictures from the late 1800's early 1900's. My great -grandfathers Christening dress (1880's).

My grandfather was a Marine in the Korean war, so I have been handed down some of the items that he got from there; mostly jewelry. My dad was in Viet Nam, so when he wanted to throw out some of that stuff, I kept it. Letters that he wrote while in Viet Nam, etc.

I have a $100 bill from the 20's, the green ink on it is much different than the ink they use now, BRIGHT green. 1921 silver dollar, couple of Silver Certificates. Hmm...not too much else.

Maybe they aren't the coolest things I own, but they are the oldest things I own.
