Joey Gladstone 33 Posted September 29, 2008 that game was a focking fluke too I didn't watch the game last year, so I can't comment on it but I did watch the entire game yesterday. Portis ran hard and well. The Cowboy's D looked soft. What's so flukey about that?

What's so flukey about that? Almost as flukey as Santana Moss bending over their "pro bowl" corner backs every time they play.
Joey Gladstone 33 Posted September 29, 2008 I will grant Romo this much...having such a historical @sshole on the team such as TO, can't make things easy. There were several posessions where you could tell they were forcing it to Owens, just to keep him from throwing a tantrum. Maybe when Jerry was throwing all that money around this offseason he should have invested in a strong personality on the coaching staff or wherever to you know, put him in his place? I'm sure that would have payed off more then the Adam Jones deal has so far.
jgcrawfish 232 Posted September 29, 2008 Interesting read on TO: T.O. IMPLOSION COMING?Posted by Mike Florio on September 29, 2008, 10:19 a.m. With the Cowboys surprisingly losing on Sunday in their final Texas Stadium regular-season game against the Washington Redskins, the shine has temporarily disappeared from the blue star that had seemed destined to appear in the Super Bowl. With twelve regular-season games left, there’s still plenty of time to turn things around. And it would be wise for someone to explain this to receiver Terrell Owens, whose me-first/me-only post-game remarks could end up creating an unwanted distraction for a franchise that needs to focus on winning games, not on keeping Owens happy. Owens clearly wasn’t happy with his role on Sunday, even though 20 of 58 offensive snaps resulted in an attempt to put the ball in his hands. He caught seven passes and had two rushing attempts. Isn’t that enough reps? “I would say no. I’m a competitor, and I want the ball,” Owens said. “Everybody recognized that I wasn’t really getting the ball in the first half. I’m pretty sure everybody watching the game recognized it, people in the stands recognized it. I think my team recognized it.” Apart from the folly of airing such dirty laundry publicly, Owens’ decision to gripe doesn’t bode well for a team that needs to shrug off its first loss of the year and get back to the business of winning football games. Moving forward, opponents will focus even more aggressively on taking Owens out of the game plan, in the hopes that he’ll start yelling and screaming and throwing popcorn on the sidelines while the offensive unit is otherwise trying to focus on how to score points when the Cowboys get the ball again, regardless of who it is that scores them. Frankly, it could be that the Cowboys tried too hard to get the ball to Owens on Sunday. The Redskins were committed to containing T.O. and tight end Jason Witten. With plenty of other weapons on offense, it makes more sense to get the ball to the players who are facing single coverage than it does to force the ball to a player who might not actually be open. Then there’s the abandonment of the running game. Marion Barber had only eight carries. Rookie extraordinaire Felix Jones had zero touches. So if T.O. is going to get the ball more, who’s going to get it less? Though it’s impossible to control Owens, this is clearly one of those situations in which the better move would have been to not complain about not getting the ball as much as he thinks he should get the ball. If the guy is a true team player, he never would have said what he said on Sunday. It’s almost enough to make us agree with Emmitt Smith’s assessment from Sunday that Owens isn’t a true Cowboy. VaTerp 0 Posted September 29, 2008 I was at the game and Im still smilin at how we closed that dump out with a WIN. Dallas should have run the ball more but the Skins outplayed them in every facet of the game, plain and simple. Time of poss. was a huge factor as others already mentioned. Also, check out some of the game logs from last year. Garret will abandon the run at times even in close games. When push comes to shove he clearly wants to throw the ball more than he wants to run it. Dallas is still one of the better teams in the league but the Skins came into Texas Stadium and smacked them in the mouth. VERY impressed with the improvements of Zorn and Campbell since game 1. Where's that idiot roroco who said the Skins were headed for a dolphins like season a few weeks ago? Hail!

IndyFan 2 Posted September 29, 2008 One other factor for Barber's 8 carries was the skins dominated the time of possession. They had the ball for 38 minutes! If the eagles had won last night, the four best teams in the league would all be in one division! The reason the Skins dominated time of possession is that the idiot Cowboys didn't run and the Skins stuck with the run.
VaTerp 0 Posted September 29, 2008 I'm jealous. I will however be at the game at Fedex! I moved to Indiana 2 years ago and the only Skins games Ive been to in that time were the last 3 at Texas Stadium. In laws moved to Dallas and got season ticks. Chief Zee was on my flight back to Chicago this morning. I cant tell you how great it felt to be in that stadium yesterday and talk chit to all the Dallas fans. Really wish I could get back to Fed Ex for some games but likely wont happen this year. Aw well, hope to be moving back to DC area in the spring. I can hear the "We Want Dallas" chants now. bigblue08 1 Posted September 29, 2008 This is the NFC East. You have to run the ball to win. As a Giants fan I have to say, they are who we thought were: OVERRATED! This team has no mental toughness. My only disappointment yesterday was that the Giants couldn't beat them first.
Savage Beast 1 Posted September 29, 2008 The Cowboys have been way overrated IMO. They are an extremely talented team, but as great as they look playing their kind of game, their defense is nothing special and is their offense that makes them so good. Quoted for the truth. But I still love my Cowboys none the less. They sure make me watching their defense play though.
De Novo 0 Posted September 29, 2008 We are playing football and it is a physical game. Blaming the officails gets really old. That's a lame argument. The game is physical, but is intended to be limited by pass interference, illegal contact, and holding penalties. I'm a Redskins fan so I'm happy with the outcome. I'm not BLAMING the officials, but I think they are a big reason Dallas was ineffective. If the refs call that game like they call all other games, it's probably a different outcome. But they swallowed their whistles and it favored Dallas.
