Gee, nice edit job 5 minutes ago. Sadly, your buddy didn't release anything until 24 hours after my post. Are you ever right about anything? Shouldn't you be out there trying to trick hobbits out of a magic ring?

Go suck on an onion and think about a happy place.

Edit: sorry about the thread hijacking folks, but sometimes I like to kick back and beat this dummy up a bit. While I am setting up a chess board with pieces, this lunkhead is reaching for his Chutes and Ladders game pieces. I'm going to kick back with a few drinks, and relax the rest of this night.

Oh, yeah. The infamous Post #142. Gee I wonder why I copy and paste your posts. Especially the ones you make at 6:00 AM, then conveniently delete or change later on.

I'm letting it go for the rest of the week. Sometimes I have to blow off some steam. I'm done. I swear. I hope you folks can understand that I will never be a punching bag, NEVER, and have to occasionally respond.

:wipeshands:

I welcome everybody back into the pool. The water is nice and warm. I've been letting out some human gas, and it's all bubbly, warm and stuff.

You have some good, well though out, meaningful responses, I'm not gonna lie, but do you actually think it gets to him? Nah he loves it. Never argue with an idiot..you can't win. I mean if you guys wanna start up a separate thread I'll be more than happy to check into that one, but as for the college football thread..I think we should keep it to college football as that's its purpose.

And again, we're on the same side tonight..so let's go Louisville!

OK, let's try to put together a coherent argument why Oklahoma St (+14) is my biggest play of the year so far, and there will probably be a couple more big plays this year. I've been drinking.

Missouri is seeing 60% of the action, and why not, as they have covered the spread in every game other than vs Buffalo. But there is significant line value here. Whereas they were favored by 20+ points vs some mediocre teams, they are coming off their first road win in Nebraska in 30 some years, and have to be feeling good about themselves, with Texas on deck. They are favored by 14 points against a very good, ranked #17 team in the nation. I am not saying they are looking past Okl St, but there is a possible let down factor and a look ahead factor.

The history. The last 6 meetings, all since 1996, have produced 6 games where half of them went to overtime, and 5 of 6 have been decided by 7 points or less.

Statistically...

Oklahoma St averages 530 yards of offense per game.

Oklahoma St gives up 339 yards of defense per game.

Missouri averages 569 yards of offense per game.

Missouri gives up 377 yards of defense per game.

Not much difference. Okl St will prefer to run, being the 2nd best run team in the country. Missouri wants to pass, never going 3 and out all season long.

It's not complicated. Both teams have outstanding offenses and untested defenses. It's not like either team has played a tough schedule so far. I have to question Missouri's run defense, as they have played a number of pass first offenses. If and when Okl St can run the ball, this will give Missouri fits. Okl St has a very good QB, who I hope the coaches figure out to let the reins off the kid, as he has a 72% completion rate this year. O St has a stud WR, and they need to feed him the ball.

Okl St is 5-0 ATS last 5 as an underdog under HC Gundy.

I know that I failed to post some goodies as to why I love Ok St in this game. Look, sometimes you have to trust a gut play. And this game jumped off the page and smacked me when I saw it. I have to trust my gut. We have a team just about as good as Missouri, getting 2 TDs in a potential shootout. I have to take the line value, and trust my instincts. If this writeup didn't convince you, no worries.

Good luck to all and with all your plays this weekend.

By the way, Winnipeg was trying to run out the clock to end their game, blowing a 14-6 lead, and happy with a 17-16 lead with minutes to play. Well, they kept getting first downs without really trying, and they were faced with a 2nd and Goal with about 30 seconds to go from the 7 yard line. Hand off, and the RB broke multiple tackles fought off a 15 yard face mask, and dived just inside the pylon. with less than 30 seconds to go. Winnipeg took a 24-16 lead, and held on to win 25-16. Lucky? You bet. But Canada Boy won the first game tonight.

Adding BC 2nd H (-4.5) for 5 units. WINNER

I loved BC for the game. Turnovers, stupidity forced this awful halftime situation, down 24-10, you expect a comeback, with playoff seeding on the line.

NCAA YTD: 48-37-5; +27.25 units

CFL YTD: 9-11-1; -5.7 units

NFL YTD: 22-14-1; +13.9 units

Friday

Louisville (-6.5) for 3 units WINNER

Winnipeg (-7) for 3 units WINNER

British Columbia (-4.5) for 3 units LOSER

Adding: British Columbia 2nd H (-4.5) for 5 units WINNER

I've been fading Louisville quite a bit the last 2 years. The same can be said about my fading of Memphis during the same time frame, so worlds are colliding tonight. Basically both were bad defensive teams that have at times been fortunate to cover games last year. More so with Memphis, a team that went to a bowl game last year although statistically they were a below average team. Although an infusion of JUCO talent has helped Memphis this year, they are still a bad team in my eyes.

Louisville first hit my radar this year when they lost to Kentucky. But the team is steadily improving, miles ahead of where they were in that game. Hunter Cantwell is a pretty good QB that was a bunch of young WRs who have been killing his completion percentage. Their offense certainly is improving week by week, rolling up 500 yards against a pretty good UConn defense in their last outing, but turnovers sent Louisville to a defeat in that game. Turnovers are keeping Louisville from being a better team this year, and over the course of a season, turnovers tend to even out, so it's hard to imagine going forward to expect 3 turnovers a game. This is a very balanced offense between the run and pass. Good defense too, especially against the run. Louisville has played tougher schedule, playing Kentucky, Kansas St, and UConn. I've watched 3 Louisville games so far this year.

While Memphis has a comparable offense to Louisville, their defense is over 100 total yards worse, and it looks worse if you watch them. The way Memphis is winning is by forcing turnovers and scoring a bunch of points on bad teams. This is a continuation of last year's fluky success. Sooner or later, that luck runs out, and you can't keep hiding a bad defense by forcing turnovers. It will get exposed at some point, and I am thinking it will be tonight. Sure, Memphis is a home dog on a weekday game, but hopefully everybody is noticing how this week the favorites have finally started to cover the mid week games. Memphis hasn't done much to impress me, coming from behind to beat UAB on a last second FG while giving up over 450 total yards of offense, and coming from behind to beat Arkansas St at home recently. I have to keep fading this bad defense. I've watched 3 to 4 Memphis games this year. Lay the lumber.

Winnipeg and Toronto meet in a game that will most likely determine which of the two teams will make the playoffs, which are 4 weeks away. Winnipeg is rounding into shape after a disastrous start to their season, and playing much better than Toronto, losers of 5 in a row, blown out in 4 of those games, and got lucky with some long TD runs to hang around with BC last week. While Toronto won the first two matchups this year, Winnipeg proved how much both teams fortunes changed by throttling Toronto a month ago in Toronto 39-9. Winnipeg should win by double digits. Toronto is 2-5 SU on the road.

British Columbia is tied to the division lead with Calgary and Saskatchewan coming down the stretch, and need every win possible. Edmonton trails in the standings by just a game. Strong home field advantage, while Edmonton does not travel well. The problem with Edm in this game is that for Ricky Ray to be truly effective, he needs time to hang in the pocket. BC bring tons of pressure, and leads the CFL in sacks and hurries by very wide margins. Doesn't matter to me if Buck Pierce or Jarius Jackson starts. This is the start of a home and home matchup this week and next, so the home team needs to hold serve. Edmonton is 2-5 SU on the road, BC is 5-2 SU at home.

NCAA YTD: 49-37-5; +30.25 units

CFL YTD: 11-12-1; -1.0 units

NFL YTD: 22-14-1; +13.9 units

I guess Canadian Boy needs to be more careful about pulling out the 5 unit bomb, but I was really stubborn about the 2nd H with BC. Anyway, good night, so no complaints from me. I pledged to be up units in CFL when I was swimming in -11.9 units a few weeks ago, and I'm dam close to being in the positives. Louisville keeps the beat marching on in college foots.

I'll repost the Saturday card in a little while. Good luck to all.

Added Baylor (-4.5)

South Carolina is really sucking, particularly QB Smelley. Two picks, one which was returned for a TD. Then he just fumbled deep in his own territory. 3 brutal first quarter turnovers. If not for a long kickoff return, So Car would be trailing badly, not miraculously tied at 7-7. Awful. Just awful.

So, after blocking a FG for a TD, So Car clings to a 14-7 lead as they just fumbled again. That's 4 turnovers in the first 18 minutes of the game, and they're winning? I've never seen anything like this.

I can't decide whether to laugh or set myself on fire.

Phillybear,

what made you decide to make everything 3 units instead of 1? you used to bet a lot of 1 units, and 3 units used to mean something. now 3 units = 1 unit.

Yeah, it's a change in posting style this year. I used to postt 30 to 40 games a Saturday too, many of them for 1 or 2 units. I'm trying to be more selective in my picks and my posts. I still play some games for 1 and 2 units, but just don't bother to post most of them, as I feel it's just more clutter to wade through. I'm doing a few 3 team parlays and small moneyline plays too, just not posting them. I'm just trying to post my more favorite plays. I'm trying to streamline.

I can see the perception that a 3 unit is almost a regular play for me, but in reality it's not. The thing that is still constant is that I rarely post anything above a 3 unit play.

Edit: Added Florida International (-2.5)

no worries, I didnt take it the wrong way....Randizzle is one of the best cappers I have followed. I dont think I can rememeber anyone having the start he has had. Also I follow Jetplane on his (3)system

over and unders...guy has only lost one total all yr long in college. Go sooners is another great capper who is hot right now. Over all that site is the best there is for writeups and general information for betting. Even the people on there are nice and helpful.
