More Trade problems

The last place team at 2-7 in my league just traded for Ced Benson and gave up Witten.....Now this team has no receivers but has 2 running backs already....The guy that got Witten is fighting for a playoff spot and is the commish and people are in an uproar.

 

Its utterly ridiculous trade

 

He now has only Reggie Williams, Toomer, and Josh Reed to go along with Boldin.....and added Ced Benson to his backfield of Jamal Charles and Derrick Ward.

 

The teams that did well have to sit and watch as the commish pulls a ripoff trade and gets away with it....there is no collusion but shitty owners need to be stopped to protect competition.

There is nothing wrong with this trade. Benson is a starting RB and an upgrade from his current RBs, while Witten has been dinged up. Are you just jealous that you didn't offer up your #3 RB for Witten first?

In a standard yardage/TD combo league... there is absolutely nothing wrong with this trade. A starting RB for a TE... usually never anything wrong with that.

Benson is a starting RB. Agree his schedule is the toughest in FB but a lot of people don't look at schedules. Not much you can do about it.

All these "Is this trade fair" posts are getting rediculous. If you can't figure it out then what are you doing running a league? I have yet to see something that looked like obvious collusion. Some of you have even posted to brag about your deal of the century, only to get slammed for a bad trade in others' opinions.

No, not all trades are fair, that is, to you. It only matters what the parties involved think.

I've been in auto sales 10 years. I can sell a car at full pop and the customer is completely satisfied and excited about their new car. I can then sell the same car, discount it 3 grand, and the guy still thinks he got ripped off. So who got the fair deal?

It doesn't matter if you would do the deal or not, it only matters to the players making the deal. In 4 years running a $$ league I've questioned 1 deal. A new member was out of the hunt and offered a lopsided deal to the 1st place team. I called him on it privately and he reworked it, and neither guy complained. I've never had any issues with the other guy. Earlier this year I made 2 trades because I was weak at RB but deep at WR. On the one I thought was very even(I gave Rivers/Braylon for McNabb/Jones-Drew) I had one guy call me to say I ripped the other guy off. The other trade I thought I was getting the way better deal (I gave Edge/Ricky/Chambers for Grant/F.Taylor) but no one said anything. It is all in the eyes of the beholder. BTW, we are all 2-2 since the trade.

Let your teams trade who they want, it doesn't matter what you think. Fair to you may not be fair to me, so I guess you could say all trades are fair, or none of them are. It is not your job to think for the other owners.

I am still waiting for a post where someone actually got busted for collusion, I'm sure it actually does happen. But come on, 99.9% of these unfair trade posts just make you look stupid.

I hate to give away my secrets, but I pray on people that go by "names" when judging trades, draft, talent.

 

People that hear a name and get a stiffy are people I want in my league.

 

Names don't mean a focking thing people. Smarten up, look at their situation and judge them on going forward, forget what their name is and what the did last year and where they were drafted.

He averages like 20 pts per game in ppr leagues. Cedric Benson has been averaging 80 yards, no touchdowns, and no receptions, that's 8 points. Oh and Witten usually blows away the TE you play against every week.

Here's a protip back at you. The OP didn't say whether it's a PPR league or not. OP also didn't say whether they use a TE starting spot or are WR & TE combined, his wording suggested WR & TE are combined.

In a non-PPR league, Witten is averaging 7.0 ppg. If you want to not count the last two games, he's averaging 9.0 ppg.

Benson is averaging 9.3 ppg since taking over the majority of carries with the Bengals.

 

Not to mention the guy who got Benson had crap for RB (Charles, will start this week then what?. Derrick Ward is a backup). No problems with that trade at all.

Let's not forget that this team is 2-7 and has $hit for players. If he has/wants any shot at making the playoffs, he needs to win now. Witten potentially scoring 20 points per game in 2-3 weeks does nothing to him. It's an immediate upgrade. Should've made the trade a week or 2 ago.
