Voltaire 5,317 Posted November 17, 2008 The Democrats in the last couple of months gave away a trillion dollars to their rich buddies, and will continue to do so in the immediate future. Right there, they did more damage than everything Bush did in the last 8 years. The Democrats will deserve most of the blame for the upcoming FAYLE in this country. Just wait until Obama rolls up his sleeves. The Democrats are a party made up of special interest groups, and now it's time for them to be rewarded. You're right, if things go bad they'll be blamed for what happens next. But also if things go well, they'll get the credit. The Dems together with Bush were the big proponents of the bailout, after eight years of doing exactly what they were told, the House GOP finally had an issue they could disagree with Bush on and they did for a few days before they all got behind it anyways when they larded it up with $150 billion more pork that before. But we needed a new direction and we're getting it. I certainly don't want the country to go belly up. It's been a depressing eight years of constant fock ups and ismanagment that led to this moment. Now that Bush is (almost) gone, I'm hopeful we can turn the corner. I mean things automatically get much better January 20th just because he'll be gone. Matters can still get worse, but at least it's not Bush in charge to ensure they do. The Dems are going to spenda lot of money. Usually I'm the first one to criticize defict spending, but that seems to be the only way out of this mess. I did learn something from Herbert Hoover and FDR. So long as the programs they spend the money on go away when things turn around, I'm OK with deficit spending temporarily. But I don't expect nationalized heath care will go away. Universal Kindergarten can't get put back in the box if they take that out either. Hopeully these programs work well and efficiently and the tax rates stabilize at a level that pays for them. The Dems though, they don't have such a god track recrod with that.
Voltaire 5,317 Posted November 17, 2008 Said the guy who couldn't make it here so he ran away to China! I hope you're enjoying the recession you voted for. Folks like you -more than anyone- deserve it.
Recliner Pilot 61 Posted November 17, 2008 I hope you're enjoying the recession you voted for. Folks like you -more than anyone- deserve it. I, for one, didn't vote to put the Demwits in control of Congress. That is when the downward spiral began.
FlaHawker 24 Posted November 17, 2008 I hope you're enjoying the recession you voted for. Folks like you -more than anyone- deserve it. Hard working, educated people deserve a recession? That's brilliant! Like RP stated, I didn't vote for the demwits in congress who mandated that mortgages be made to people like you who couldn't afford to pay them. Dr.Grimm 0 Posted November 17, 2008 You're right, if things go bad they'll be blamed for what happens next. No freaking way. They will just say Bush messed it up too much to fix.
Greedo 13 Posted November 17, 2008 youre kidding, right? you guys went on and on about how W was clueless and focked up the country..so your response was to put the guy with the least amount of experience in the white house...having someone who knows what to do in certain situations and has dealt with foreign affairs isnt a bad idea right now... Reagan didn't have a lot of experience either, but he surrounded himself with a strong team. I expect that's what we'll see Obama do. He knows what he doesn't know, but more importantly, (though it's not really saying anything), he is far more intelligent than our current fearless leader, and will learn quick. The Democrats are a party made up of special interest groups, and now it's time for them to be rewarded. Sorta like the religious right, anti-abortion groups, big oil, and the NRA have been rewarded under a republican administration? Neither party can claim not to be beholden to special interest groups. One good thing about Obama raising so many small donations over the internet is that he should be beholden to fewer big donors than previous men in his position. Did abortion get outlawed while I was out today? Counting among Obama's many small doners he will be beholden to the members of Hamas that made donations to his campaign?
