BLS 314 Posted December 12, 2008 First of all, let me say Congress is a joke, and should be disbanded. But now, I disagree with your quote. The thing that pisses me off the most about all these bailouts is the treatment of executives. Take the banks. The executives have the gall to take bonuses and pay dividends with tax money, then turn around and fire workers? How the fock do we stand for that? And if I were in charge, the Big 3 wouldn't get a freaking nickel until their business strategy made sense. Step one: Break the union. Step two: Break the executives. These focking CEO's are disgusting, and ought to be tarred and feathered. Geez man, I might make a Ron Paul supporter out of you yet. At least you see what I see. A bunch of bullshit that HAS to be stopped.

I think we are in agreement.
Dr.Grimm 0 Posted December 12, 2008 GM is like 66 BILLION in debt right now. This is just a money grab before they all go under. They will go under no matter what, thanks in large part to unions and the sh1t they pull.
titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted December 12, 2008 Geez man, I might make a Ron Paul supporter out of you yet. At least you see what I see. A bunch of bullshit that HAS to be stopped. Actually, I did support Ron Paul. I even donated to one of his "money bombs." He said a lot of stuff I liked, and a couple of things that made me cringe. (I forget what, sorry.) I knew he never had a chance though, largely because he sounds like an indignant Elmer Fudd. But I am a libertarian. If I were king, I would disband half of the federal government immediately. buffalobillsffl2003 0 Posted December 12, 2008 The banking bailout is more of a disgrace than Detroit...but... Detroit decided to make cars for the WW2 generation some 40-50 years ago and they have retained that mentality to this day. They make cars for the guy who heads to the VFW 3-4 times a week...big boat Buicks and Cadillac wannabes for the retired union worker. The only other time Detroit changed their tune was when they marketed dirtbag pickups to low-brow whites. They market their vehicles to a certain segment of society and then close out people who maybe want to get more than 10 miles to the gallon. Not even speaking of the horrid reliability on Amerikan cars...Ford/GM/Chrysler...they have made a sub-standard product for decades. On top of all that, their workers have been riding a fuckinggravytrain for decades...paid very well with top notch benefits so they can continue to make lousy cars...a job a monkey could do and run by a disgusting commie organization like the uaw. Fuckthe bailout, let them fail... no more gravy train in Amerika. Let Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan et al. continue building factories here. This country gave up on manufacturing 35 years ago... Dr.Grimm 0 Posted December 13, 2008 From CNN.com ......other Americans firms in other industries have had to change their benefit systems or die. Detroit always managed to avoid making the change in part because of government assistance.

supermike80 1,898 Posted December 13, 2008 There seems to be a lot of discussion related to the "breakup" of the UAW. Yes, a bankruptcy would possibly allow a automaker to break a union contract--however, remember the UAW is still very powerful here. GM would still need a large amount of employees in its plants and they could be unionized, again. Wouldn't be that hard. Especially if the unions get their card check system passed. So it isn't as easy as everyone thinks. Carry on.
