RLLD 4,230 Posted August 15, 2009 It really up to Orton himself right now, and how quickly he assimilates his new team and play book. He has always been more of a system-type guy, can he now show that he is more than a pedestrian QB benefiting from a customized scheme? Only time will tell, and while we wait to see, the Broncos passing game will be a fantasy wasteland....unfortunately.
Dice_Dominator 0 Posted August 15, 2009 Orton is a nice QB. Much better than people give him credit for, and he has all the tools to succeed in Denver. I am targeting him as a stud #2 Qb to back up my top guy.

The Hood 9 Posted August 15, 2009 I see you bumping Orton threads, but I don't see any posts by you in any of these threads saying he's going to suck. I didn't post that the sun was going to come up today either but I knew it would too. As a Bears fan I've seen more than enough of Orton to know what he is. I had to spend last year on here posting that he wasn't horrible. Don't ask him to do too much or here come the int's and if teams really stack up against the run yes he can put up a good game but that is all you're going to get. That I need to tell people that pro-rating his first 7 games (when he played 15) or predicting a repeat of Cutler's numbers just because Orton is in Denver now is a bad idea just seemed to be a waste of time. He could still be a good 2nd QB this year but the top ten? top 6?..........that's just stupid.

nobody 2,667 Posted August 15, 2009 I agree that Orton isn't a good qb. That's not the point. The point is that it's easy to sit back and wait for someone to stick their neck out and then laugh when their predictions don't come true. Should we go look for your predictions? It's the first preseason game. Sorry I didn't jump in this thread in your allotted time. Again I just bumped this one because the guy in the other thread was taking sh1t from others and I knew there were plenty of other threads talking up Orton this year. And this is the only thread I bumped. That other one I posted a last week with the quote when he was booed in practice. Figured that showed my thoughts on Orton. Or did I have to get in a prediction before training camp started?
Spec7ral 6 Posted August 16, 2009 I just finished watching the first 3 quarters of what was Kyle Orton looking like extremely old moldy garbage. If Chris Simms has another game like this next week, it won't matter if it's against 2nd string defenders or not. Orton telegraphed a couple passes, they were just brutal. Josh McDaniels, have fun with the mess you have created. He should have taken into account he doesn't have the respect of Bill Parcells or the Super BOwl history before he came in and started going bulldog on his locker room. It's starting to look like it's going to be a long season for all the people at the Coors brewery. First preseason gome or not, does NOT look to bide well for the Broncos. Hillis looked ok though, but , again, against secnd stringers. Hopefully Joshua gets Hillis and Simms some first units reps next week.
