I still don't see why you want Portis while you're in rebuild mode. If you was position to win this year, i'd take Portis. Considering you're rebuilding i'd take Rice.

You have to get Ginn (not Steve Smith Giants) if you give up Anthony Gonzalez. You're receivers are pathetic and giving up Anthony Gonzalez is a bad idea unless you get back a somewhat equal WR. Make sure to get a first next year and Vernon Davis too. I like krizays' idea.

Which he'll likely try to replace Ginn with Choice and remove Davis(maybe). In which case if I was you i'd then replace Smith for Ginn. He'll be back. He was thrown the ball 10 times in practice the other day and caught 8 of them. I listened to their G.M. on Sirius Satellite radio on Friday and he said Vernon Davis has been the standout player on the team at practices.

 

Then you can work on getting a good WR to start. Kenny Britt could hopefuly come up big this year and you have Ginn now so that is at least a start.

Hightower will at least start half the year.

 

 

At best Hightower will be the 3rd down/GL back which does give him some value, but Wells will be the starter from day one. He's much more talented than Hightower and RBs don't need the dajustement period that WRs and QBs do.

 

Wells is a big boy himself so its not even a given that Hightower will get GL carries.
