Carson Palmer has talked him up pretty good, but I believe that is Carson's job as the team leader.

 

I see Henry as just another third receiver on a decent passing team. I'd rather go after a guy that had potential to be a #1 or was a solid weekly contributor. Henry has always been too inconsistant to be a fantasy factor.

I wouldn't call him a super sleeper. A sleeper, but many people are aware of Housh leaving. Sure Coles came over but he is no Housh. If Palmer gets back to form and Henry stays on the field, I could see close to 10 TDs and he could even move into the #2 with Coles in the slot.

I am going to put him in the sleeper category.

 

1) Henry is in a contract year, I believe he is smart enough to keep his nose clean at least until he signs...if he signs an extension all bets are off.

 

2) With Palmer back the team should look more like they did 2 years ago (at least in receiving stats)

 

3) Coles will be the possession receiver, but he is (in my opinion) a step down from Housh...I think that leaves some more balls for the 3rd WR

 

4) If anything happens to Chad Johnson (suspensions and or mental meltdowns are more likely with Chad than with many others) Henry will step into a bigger role, when looking at the WRs in his ranking position (59th here at FFT) it is tough to find more upside potentail

Does Chris Henry have upside. Yes. Tons. But it's all contingent on a lot of factors coming into play as mentioned here.

 

So draft with caution as a high upside value pick.

 

Just DON'T COUNT ON HIM for anything. Draft him in a spot where his production will be a gift.

Exactly. I drafted today in a 10 team league and he is on waviers. I would have drafted him however the friggin commish set the rounds at 14! However for Carson to call him "Baby Moss" leads me to believe that he is going to throw more balls his way. I agree with 12 teams or more draft him late but if he starts blowing up in the preseason then he will no longer be a sleeper.

Henry's value in the past has come from TDs. 36 Receptions and 605 yards (2006) are his career highs. He had 9 TDs that year but inconsistancy has been the name of his game.

He's been getting allot of hype this year, but he still needs an injury to someone to be reliable. I remember a few years ago when he got the chance to start he did nothing with it. He's worth taking a flyer on, but he's probably more hype than reality.

I wouldn't waste a roster spot on him in a 10 or 12 teamer right now. Cincy wants to run the ball a little more this year and Coles will be productive. Henry is a bye week guy in my eyes.
