I don't consider guys that get injured busts. That's an unlucky pick is all.

 

I consider guys that you take in the first round that underperform through a whole season as busts.

MJD is unproven as far as workload so he is a big question mark......Turner on the other hand wont be a bust, i mean how can he? he is young and has proven he can be a top rb. If a few others pass him this year then so be it.....but he wont bust. Falcons have a solid offense and will score.

Each and every year there are 2 or 3 giant busts out of the 1st 10 fantasy picks. Especially if you take into account where they were drafted

Tom Brady(HUGE bust)

Randy Moss (bust, see Brady. he was drafted very high in most leagues)

so that's 5, maybe 6 out of 10

 

This year will be no different.

 

Adrian Peterson (safest bet)

Michael Turner (potential bust, too many carries last year)

Maurice Jones-Drew (huge hype, 1st year without Taylor)

Matt Forte (only his 2nd year, huge bust potential)

Steven Jackson (the rams?)

DeAngelo Williams (break out year, lots of bust potential)

Chris Johnson (another sophmore)

LaDainian Tomlinson (over the hill?)

Larry Fitzgerald (if warner goes down, hes a bust)

Frank Gore (49ers offense?)

I really only see a couple of safe bets and noone can predict injuries.

 

I know it's only 1 week and that week isn't finished, but wow there was a lot of futility for a lot of these guys week 1.

I'm perplexed by this view on MJD. This isn't a situation where we have an RB who previously showed some potential as a part-time player and is now getting a shot at being a featured back. We're talking about a guy who was a top-10 RB for several years in an RBBC and is now going to be the featured back. In other words, he's already proven he has the ability to put up big numbers with limited playing time. Even if the increased playing time results in no incremental performance improvement, he's still a first rounder (although not a high first rounder).

 

Is the concern that he will be more prone to injuries with increased playing time? Or that he will be more likely to run down and his performance will suffer? These are risks, for sure, but I'd rather take a chance on a guy with a track record of scoring double-digit TDs each year than a guy with no track record getting a starting job for the first time.

You labeled 9 guys as potential busts, and it just so happens 2 of them had HUGE weeks this week. You can't call everyone but AD a "possible bust" and take credit when 1/2 of them bust. It's the equivalent of me saying ALL the NFC East teams MIGHT make the playoffs, and then pat myself on the back when the Giants and Cowboys do.

I wasn't picking which ones would be busts. I picked which I believe were the 1st 10 picks in most drafts and then I merely guessed as to their bust potential. I am not patting myself on the back for which I picked to be the busts, I am patting myself on the back for the thread.
