Lets Discuss Justin Forsett!

Recommended Posts

With James now cut and the fact that julious stinks, does Forsett have a chance to become a sleeper? Is this cat any good? He looks kind of small to me. Looking for some homer opinions.

He looks kind of small to me is kinda like saying that Beyonce chick might have a big booty. I think he's shorter than Sproles.

To me he is nothing special. I've seen him play a lot on special teams and as a third down back; he's Leon light, without the power or the explosiveness. But my exposure to him is limited to preseason and a couple regular season games, so maybe Seahawk homers can chime in.

That said, he has been the best back in Seattle for awhile, and I personally am hoping he gets enough work so that we can say definitively what he is or is not.

FWIW, I plugged him into my lineup as a bye week replacement in a very deep league (14 starters) which gives yardage for kick returns. I think the little cacksucker had all of 20 all-purpose yards. Just mentioning this as a full disclosure item; I might be somewhat biased that the worthless fock going back into the waiver wire bin tomorrow isn't worth another thought.

Your mileage may vary.

Meh. He's an ok 3rd down type back. I'd say a poor man's Mo Maurice. He has some fumbling problems.

 Good call.

Unless someone has bench space, I'd say pass on him until he proves to be something.

Really, the best thing about him is that Jones is the only other back on the team. Maybe later on in the year as the Hawks slide further and further to the back of the pack, the coaching staff will give him more touches. With the state of our line I wouldnt expect him to light the world on fire.

I think he could be a decent flex play in due time. He's done decent with the handful of carries he has gotten averaging 5.7 ypc, but he has fumbled in three straight games. I said a few weeks back that he could turn into a real nice sleeper once Mora and his goonies realize that Edge is completely done and that JJ is not capable of carrying a full load. Now that the Edge domino has fallen Forsett should get more touches. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess somewhere in the neighborhood of 35% of all the touches from the RBs, and that number could go up if JJ continues to struggle and Forsett learns how to secure the ball. I wanted to stash him after his bye week last week but someone beat me to the punch.

If Seattle loses this week to Arizona - the playoffs are going to be a long-shot. Any chance Forsett gets more of the workload? Seattle's playoff schedule looks pretty decent: (14) Houston, (15) Tampa & (16) Green Bay.

JJ is the starter period.

Mora sees improvement in J. Jones Fri Nov 13, 01:34 AM Eric D. Williams, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports Seattle Seahawks head coach Jim Mora is seeing progress in RB Julius Jones. Mora said, "I think there's been some real improvement in Julius that's not necessarily evident to the naked eye when you're watching the game for any of us --- coaches on the side, fans in the stands or you guys in the press box. But when you go back and look at the film you notice some things that he's doing a lot better, and he's starting to pick up the scheme. He's seeing things much better. I think he's understanding where the cuts are going to be much better. I feel like he's gaining more yards after contact than he was earlier in the year. So those are some of the things that I think he's doing well. And then his pass protection has improved."
