Patriots vs Colts thread

Recommended Posts

Wow. What a wild game. Just when you think what has transpired with these teams over the last ten years couldn't be topped, last night happens.

I'm still not sure what I think of the decision to go for it. As others have said if they make it (i.e. get a decent spot) Bill's a genius for not giving the ball back to Peyton. There was potential risk and benefit to either choice. Yes, as it went, it blew up in their face, but how many times has punting it away to Peyton blown up in a team's face? I'm not sure it's the call I would have made but I'm okay with it.

Congrats on the WIN Colts fans. See you in the playoffs.

I hope they play again. I like the Patriots chances a 2nd time around.

If Belicheck didn't tuck his junk and play so conservative (until the 4th down call) in the 4th quarter (as well as waste Time Outs, which is something he is doing too much of recently), this would have been a blow out.

The Colts should not have to scrape out a win like this at home. A win is a win, but they need to step it up for the playoffs.

The Cotls should feel good about getting home field advantage though. No way they would win outside in January.

So wait - you go on to say how good the Patriots are, and you even like their chances a 2nd time around, but you weren't impressed with the Colts win, and now all of a sudden they need to STEP IT UP??? Give some focking credit dude, yeah our secondary didn't play well, and our young WRs had some key drops, but with those drops, with ALL 3 of our RBs being banged up, and missing 3/4 of our secondary, we (Peyton Manning), just had a comeback for the ages. C'mon man, I'm callin you out on this one...How can you say the Colts need to step it up, like they didn't in the last 4 minutes when Manning lead 2 TD drives in which he cut through ur DEF like a hot knife through butter, and our DEF stepped up and finally made a stop when we needed it most. Give some credit

Dating back to the Colts playoffs losses out east, most NFL fans have drawn certain conclusions about Pats fans that have proven themselves true again and again. Here's a refreshers:

Any opp wins a close game = Pats gave them a gift

Pats win a close game = Pats just know how to win

Brady loses a game = blame it on supporting cast or play calling

Hoodie loses a game = gutsy call that most coaches wouldn't have the ballz to make

Manning loses a game = Can't win in the clutch

Manning wins in the clutch = Manning has a better supporting cast

Manning wins in the clutch with rookie WR's = Manning has to have help from the def

Manning wins in the clutch with rookie WR's and rookie DB's = Pats gave them a gift

Feel free to print and laminate. You'll get a lot of use out of it.

Maybe he shouldn't be in every Patriots thread that gets created. Look at any Patriot thread, he is consistently in the top two for post counts in that thread.

I think he kind of likes the Pats fans. :music_guitarred:

Yeah, OK. Oops, you forgot about Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, San Diego, etc, etc. They might not even meet in the playoffs. The Pats havent beaten the Colts in a meaningful game in many years. Time to cue up Janet Jacksons famous song that fits The Pats perfectly:

"...What have you done for me lately....ohhhh ohhhhh ohhhh yeah..... what have you done for me lately...." :dunno:

good point. according to coach ditka: yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, today's a gift, that's why it's the present". thus:

yesterday= history = brady 6-0 vs colts long time ago

today = gift = brady 1-4 vs colts lately; 4th-2, no 1st down, pats played better, but colts get win

tomorrow = playoffs = ?????

well, i'm sure it's a healthy combination of bringing it upon one's self and being cajoled into these spirited if not entertaining threads.

i myself find it side-salad entertaining to mess with birdbrain and these threads---u guys are quite luring to say the least.

the PATS dominated that game and i hope the COLTS fans can admitt that. Yes the COLTS won the game but NE is clearly the better team. The PATS offense stopped them selves not the COLTS. you can go ahead and rip me for saying that but its true :shocking: Like the announces said the COLTS do need that home field advantage alot more than the PATS and the PATS clearly showed they are the better team and can go into INDY and win. the score should have been 48-35 but it was not.

Great game by Peyton and i knew we were in trouble when they scored the TD in 1:30 or whatever to pull with in 6. I like the decision to go for it. If they had another TO to challange the spot the PATS probably win. but again we didnt.

LOLz. Just like the Pats were the superior team with the Giants in the Super Bowl. I'm sensing a pattern here. New England is the best team on the field, but sometimes it doesn't show up on the scoreboard. Got it.

these little regular seasons games dont matter much to a team that has three lombardis. The colts can trash our coach all they want. His jewelry collection is a bit more extensive than Mr manning. Enjoy the win colts fans.......... we all know the fast start teams always fade away........just like your 13 win team that lost the final three games and got wrecked in the playoffs. I really want to congratulate the colts on a meaningless regular season win. From the big talk here from the horse shoe fiends.....you would think they won the superbowl last night......

the colts only won due to a maroney goal line fumble. One little fumble ....NE score there even a FG and we win.

Wow....You Pats fan really just need to take the loss and move onto the Jets and hope they don't drop two in a row.

Here is the points: The better team won because they had more points. The game is 60 minutes, you play a full 60 minutes. The year the Pats went 18-1, the Colts were one of the two closest teams to beat them in the regular season. We played 53 awesome minutes of that game, but the Pats played better the last 7 and won the game. The better team won that game. Last night, the Colts played 60 minutes. They kept playing and scoring, even with some bad stuff happening. Point is, game is 60 minutes, as you have said over and over, it is up to your defense to stop us! They didn't and we scored one more point to win the game. Was it pretty? Nope, it doesn't matter, we won and we proved we can beat you, even with all the stuff in your favor and stuff going agaisnt us.

So, I don't care about rings, or sb's. And this wasn't a meaningless regular season game and you know it. It was huge! And if you had won, it would have been a great, super, big, awesome, what ever regular season win. But you lost and now it was meaniningless, makes you sound like a complete idiot and moron on the forums.

So just take the loss and move on.

Not according to the rule book. Bobbling the ball = no forward progress. Or do you think the rules should be changed yet again to benefit your team and qb? Oh and thanks for proving my point again. (#post 163) Pats choke away a game against the Colts = Pats actually won. The Bills choke away a game against the Pats = Pats just know how to win. :pointstosky:

Oh... and here's your genious coach during last nights game. Yes... on national television he actually wiped his own sweat off of his brow and proceeds to sniff it. Mmm... smells like fresh baked toll house cookies.
