Suns-Lakers Game 1

Recommended Posts

Not being a west coast guy, I must admit this series has been very entertaining to watch. Steve Nash is great. He gives us 5'11" 170lb white boys much joy to watch.

The most suprising thing about this whole series to me is Alvin Gentry. Not really paying attention I just assumed he was a lame duck coach. A stop gap guy given the job that would be fired in two years. However he has REALLY impressed me with his in game adjustments and inbetween game adjustments. Not to mention the effort he gets from his team. I realize effort shouldn't have be coached but sometimes in the NBA it does and the Suns are getting the loose balls and outrebounding the bigger Lakers. I'm thinking Mr.Gentry is making a name for himself this series. As of right now he is outcoaching Phil Jackson.

I wonder how drunk Strike is tonight.

Only moderately. Too bad you didn't take me up on that bet. PHX looking more and more likely to win the series. Heck, they're probably the favorite now.....

No way. L.A. still has home court and the better talent 1 thru 6 on the depth chart. All the Lakers have to do is stop shooting 30 three pointers a game and go back to pouding the paint and driving the lane. Couple that with a little more effort and Lakers should still win the series.

If Phil Jackson keeps his eye on his contract/feud with Buss, and not on fixing those issues the Suns just might upset them though.

:dunno:

Of course, listening to Jackson's presser last night, the reason the Lakers are losing is because of fouls. Phoenix is beating them from the line. Expect that to change next game.

For a "great" coach, Phil sure does b!tch alot about the officiating.

i give LA the nod just due to homecourt. talent level is debateable. LA also has the experience edge of winning conference championships and nba titles.

this is Phil Jackson. He loves planting seeds in the minds of officials, even if it means a hevty fine in the process.
