IMMensaMind 462 Posted March 4, 2011 I'm gonna stick with my 14mpg 400hp SUV, thanks. I'm banking on y'all driving aluminum cans with solar panels, and I'll have all the gas I need to myself.
BudBro 174 Posted March 4, 2011 i find this astonishing since this president is struggling with turning this economy around. even if there were indicators that things were beginning to turn upwards (which there are NOT), high fuel prices are simply going to delay the recovery until he's not president any longer (god forbid the idiots re-elect him). people who may have had some money to spend in the tertiary economy are now unable because they need another $150 a month for the car. didn't obama spew out once that he was going to end these "speculation" games on wall street? being the biggest taker of bp handouts made it impossible to comment on the oil spill, but this moratorium that he and salazar should go to prison for is only causing more problems. any member of congress who is not supporting "drill here" is a traitor to those working to make a living. the green energy movement is nothing short of a shananigan that wastes exhorbitant amounts of money (see Solyndra...wasted $400 million). wind energy isn't controllable and none of the utility companies want to purchase it...which is why they are being forced by law. solar technology isn't anywhere near being efficient and relies upon batteries for storage. if you don't live in a place that gets power from hydro-electric generators, you should NOT be allowed by law to purchase an electric car. any fuel that requires a government subsidy attached to it, like ethanol (but that's a gwb debacle) is nothing but a black hole. wind energy is the same. stupid. diesel fuel is the least refined of the fuels, yet it is the highest priced. this simple fact should tell you that government has their hand inside your a$$. high diesel prices mean shipping prices rise, causing higher consumer costs and less demand. the economy takes another shot. commodity prices are all up and now add rising shipping costs to get it to market. i find it ironic, yet sad since we're the ones suffering through it, that obama's lawsuit against citibank in the 90s basically caused the housing crisis, from which he has no plan to recover. and now the bp spill and the moratorium, along with some towelhead freaks (since when did qaddafi's name start with a g?), have created another economic problem for which he has no plan to recover. i don't really think he cares, but it's funny to me how he's entirely responsible for the calamity we are in, somehow got elected leader (you were warned before you voted), doesn't recognize that he bears any responsibility for any of it, and has no way to fix it. he wasn't capable of making the rotation on his basketball team, yet badgered his coach into letting him play. nothing is different now. he badgered citibank until he got unqualified people homes. he badgered the electorate to believe that big oil is bad while taking their money. he wins, everyone else loses. demagogue power-mongers only want power in order to compare themselves to others with similar power. this is not a conspiracy to keep the little guy down or to control the population. obama doesn't recognize that this affects you in any way, shape, or form, nor does he care. he got his resume updated with a new position. that's all that was planned.
