Phurfur 70 Posted June 18, 2011 Billie Jean is awesome. You have no soul. Some over-rated songs: Tom Sawyer - Rush Love Shack - B-52's Give it away - Red Hot Chili Peppers (AWFUL SONG) Faith - George Michael The Beatles Hotel California - Eagles Fire and Rain - James Taylor Losing My Religion - REM Most David Bowie
cribdog 0 Posted June 18, 2011 Boston....anything by them.
IronToe Nedney 0 Posted June 19, 2011 Wow there are some great songs listed in here. You guys are mostly idiots. 1. Stairway to Heaven. If I never hear this song again it will be too soon. 2. Anything by U2. 3. Dream on. 4. Foxy Lady 5. Sweet Caroline. There may be many more.
Herbivore 1,134 Posted June 20, 2011 In no particular order, as ranking them would actually contribute to their overrated status: Tom Sawyer - Rush (see below) Don't Stop Believing - Journey (ANYTHING by Rush or Journey is horribly overrated, unless it's rated as crap) Freebird- Lynrd Skynrd (Awful. Truly awful, on every level, from a band that was capable of better stuff) Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin (That this is so often considered their masterpiece has always mystified me) Welcome to the Jungle - G&R (So bad it almost sounds like a parody of their good work) You should be embarrassed. JT 137 Posted June 20, 2011 You should be embarrassed. Oh. So you like songs that suck. Sorry.
Lackman 0 Posted June 21, 2011 1-5,0000 Songs by Led Zepellin. It's bad enough their lead singer sounds like Gloria Aldred on a bender in a seedy karaoke bar belting out I Will Survive and their only talented musician died fighting a puddle of vomit 100 years ago, but they stole about 99% of their riffs and complete songs from other bands. Plagiarism Zepellin were a hyped cover band. Start googling. Some examples: "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" - A folk song by Anne Bredon, this was originally credited as "traditional, arranged by Jimmy Page," then "words and music by Jimmy Page," and then, following legal action, "Bredon/Page/Plant." "Black Mountain Side" - uncredited version of a traditional folk tune previously recorded by Bert Jansch. "Bring It On Home" - the first section is an uncredited cover of the Willie Dixon tune (as performed by the imposter Sonny Boy Williamson). "Communication Breakdown" - apparently derived from Eddie Cochran's "Nervous Breakdown." "Custard Pie" - uncredited cover of Bukka White's "Shake 'Em On Down," with lyrics from Sleepy John Estes's "Drop Down Daddy." "Dazed And Confused" - uncredited cover of the Jake Holmes song (see The Above Ground Sound Of Jake Holmes). "Hats Off To (Roy) Harper" - uncredited version of Bukka White's "Shake 'Em On Down." "How Many More Times" - Part one is an uncredited cover of the Howlin' Wolf song (available on numerous compilations). Part two is an uncredited cover of Albert King's "The Hunter." "In My Time Of Dying" - uncredited cover of the traditional song (as heard on Bob Dylan's debut). "The Lemon Song" - uncredited cover of Howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor" - Wolf's publisher sued Zeppelin in the early 70s and settled out of court. "Moby ######" - written and first recorded by Sleepy John Estes under the title "The Girl I Love," and later covered by Bobby Parker. "Nobody's Fault But Mine" - uncredited cover of the Blind Willie Johnson blues. "Since I've Been Lovin' You" - lyrics are the same as Moby Grape's "Never," though the music isn't similar. "Stairway To Heaven" - the main guitar line is apparently from "Taurus" by Spirit. "White Summer" - uncredited cover of Davey Graham's "She Moved Through The Fair." "Whole Lotta Love" - lyrics are from the Willie Dixon blues "You Need Love."
