devius 4 Posted November 29, 2011 ok... im one of the guys that will never question a trade unless I really think there is Collusion involved... But recently a trade went down that had a majority of the league questioning it's validity... keep in mind the two involved are friends. this trade happened 2 weeks ago but we've all been discussing it for sometime now. Team 1 in first place trades away Dez Bryant *was hurt at the time* Pierre thomas Pierre garcon To team in last place... no hope of playoffs and has only made 2 moves the entire season for : Micheal Turner Tony Gonzalez btw... it took 2 weeks for the last place team to even plug Dez Bryant into his lineup and the other 2 are benched... Overreaction? or Warranted?
sportsfreak2744 0 Posted November 29, 2011 I'm always skeptical of moves that are made with teams that are clearly out of it or have been largely inactive.

Honey Badger 0 Posted November 29, 2011 As a commissioner, I'd love to hear how others deal with this crap. We've talked about a vote but too many biases for it to work. We've talked about barring trades with teams out of it, but in a competitive league, you'd have to wait until the last few weeks for a team to truly be mathematically eliminated. In summary, we haven't come up with any way to police sketchy trades. We did boot a team a few years ago for making one too many ridiculous trades but this caused a lot of friction. CookieG 4 Posted November 29, 2011 Overreaction. Turner is the best/most solid player in that deal. Nothing to see here IMO.

Overreaction? or Warranted? what kind of league is this? if this is a keeper/dynasty league I think the deal isnt too bad. Turner and Gonzo, while solid players are near the end of their football life. Dez is a top WR talent at the beginning of his career. Garcon & thomas are two players whose value can vary greatly depending on who you talk to. I still have one friend who is on the Pierre Thomas bandwagon and thinks he will still one day be a stud. (not too bright with respect to this, but he does believe it) in a redraft league I'd maybe question it a bit, but I was never under the impression that Dez was gonna be out a long time. anyhow, if there is more info on your league rules/scoring that would shed some light on this it may help us to analyze the situation. lod 0 Posted November 29, 2011 I think questioning this trade is warranted. However it should not be vetoed unless something could be proven before the trade went down. Is the first place team using Turner and Gonz? Was the last place team using them on a weekly basis and then made the trade and did not use Bryant until 2 weeks later? Stuff like that can basically prove it was collusion but not much you can do about a trade like that unless you want the commish to run the league with an iron fist and micromanage everyone's teams for them. devius 4 Posted November 29, 2011 Redraft non ppr TD heavy league. all TD's are 6 points recieving/rushing 1 per 15 yards.

Your trade deadline was too late. Set it prior to week 9 games. This pretty much prevents mathematically eliminated teams from making deals.

420allstars 13 Posted November 29, 2011 Ask the last place guy to justify why he thinks this makes his team better? maybe he had no TE and was somehow a PT believer? he could be stuipd but no cheating his answer should tell you all you need to know.. By the time you get into weeks 9, 10 and beyond, you have multiple teams that are way out of contention and the potential for fishy business goes up dramatically. Yup that's the way to go.....we have a trade deadline of midnight on friday before week 10. Never have a voting system for trades as it turns into one big p i s s i n g contest. Get one GM who everyone respects and have him be the one who approves trades. If he himself is involved in the trade then he has to have his trades approved by the commissioner.
