I had reported him to the State for using Title II (Federal Special Education funds). Turns out he was using it on golf, alcohol, and travel expenses. This was a perfect example of where teacher's unions are needed. He could have fired me and that would have been the end. It would be easy to make something work now since I have a new job at a real K-12 everything school instead of Kindergartens or just teaching at an English evenings and weekends school (which I also do for my own school) as I was doing before. (I do also have my own evenings/weekends school.) While we're on it, I've got something maybe you can help me out with. I've also got to get in touch with some summer camp programs in the US. As you can imagine, I've no idea what I'm doing. I don't know anything about them or what to even look for. Since I speak English, I'm the one that has to find it. I don't think any of us has a clue what summer camps do except that other schools offer similar programs so we want to do that as well. I'm just googling around randomly today, not even sure what I'm looking for except it has to be in the US and able to accomodate and do something or other with a bunch of Chinese kids. Can regular camps accept foreign kids with limited English or do I have to focus on camps geared specifically for them? How many kids can I send? 5? 20? 300? 1000? somewhere around there Region? As you know, I run a recreation program through the summer and we use a lot of these places. Something you may want to consider is a summer student exchange program. I set one up with a school in Spain a few years ago. I found exchange homes for them to stay at and had a ton of activities lined up for them to do for two weeks.
