Ugh... you need education alright -- the processed flour in the pasta is worse for you than butter and oil. I'm wondering if the FDA will ever fess up that they might have been a little mistaken about food value, but I doubt it since low-fat foods is a ginormous industry with I presume a similarly sized lobby.

The point of my post was not to get into a discussion about which is worse for you between certain carbs and saturated fats.

 

I made a simple example that illustrated that knowing the main ingredients in a restaurant served dish is only half the story. How they prepare it and what other addititives/ingredients not known to the consumer they use when cooking and preparing it matter almost as much.
